Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Week. The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Night of Distinction recognizes and provides visibility to individuals, volunteers, and groups that have made exceptional contributions to Jackson, making it a better place to live, work and raise a family. This special evening applauds vision, leadership, commitment, and service by awarding Community Awards as well as celebrating past & incoming board members of the Jackson Chamber. The event was postponed due to the snowstorm, but award winners will still be announced and celebrated during Community Awards Week, February 7-11. Winners will be announced on the Jackson Chamber’s Facebook page, and you can tune in to daily media tours on JTV, WKHM – Jackson’s NewsTalk Radio, 106.9 HOME.fm, and Jackson Magazine.

Winter Wonderland LEGO Contest. The Spring Arbor Branch invites kids ages 3-17 to create a winter wonderland out of LEGO! Creations can be dropped off at the Spring Arbor Branch February 1-28 during open hours. Prizes will be awarded for 3 age groups. Racism in the Military Exhibit. Michigan’s Military Heritage Museum is featuring a Michigan Humanites funded exhibit “Racism in the Military”. It is a compare and contrast of Colonel Charles Young,the third black graduate of West Point, with Major General Robert Smith a US Army Division Commander and Vietnam Veteran. It is sponsored by American 1 Credit Union. Michigan’s Military Heritage Museum, 311 N. Wisner Street, Jackson.
