Jackson College Kids Art Camp:  All About Color. 9 AM to 11 AM. Get ready for an amazing art adventure at our camp, where you’ll unleash your creativity and bring your wildest ideas to life! Each day, you’ll explore fun techniques like printmaking, drawing, and sculpture, creating awesome projects that you can proudly take home. With cool activities and exciting new skills, this camp is your chance to become an art superstar! Age restriction: 6 – 12 years old. Emergency Preparedness Demonstration Event.  Jackson Public School and Highland will host a community event to demonstrate how electric school buses can serve as critical assets during emergencies by providing power during outages, acting as portable cooling centers, or sending energy back to the grid. We will be serving snow cones from a machine powered by an electric school bus offering a fun example of how the buses can support the community when it is needed most.  Loomis Park, 210 Gilbert Street, Jackson.

$1  Summer Kids Movie Days.  Sponsored by Kiwanis & American 1 Credit Union.  This week’s movie:  IF.  July 15–17 (Tuesday–Thursday).  Showtimes: 11AM & 2PM with the doors opening 30 minutes before (10:30 AM and 1:30 PM).  Enjoy three days of family-friendly fun at the historic Michigan Theatre of Jackson with IF, a heartwarming fantasy comedy directed by John Krasinski. The film follows a young girl who discovers she can see everyone’s forgotten imaginary friends, embarking on a whimsical journey to reunite them with their creators. Admission is $1 for all ages. Snacks and drinks will be available at the concession stand. Doors open 30 minutes before each showtime. It’s the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon with the whole family!  Michigan Theatre, Downtown Jackson.

Richard Paul:  Ventriloquist. Step right up and join in on the ultimate family adventure! Imagine a world where music, magic, puppets, and your wildest imagination collide in a spectacular show designed just for you. Richard Paul, family-friendly ventriloquist, will be visiting to delight audiences with his Family Fun Variety Show. Ribbon Cutting Event.  The Center for Family Health will host a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Community Celebration on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 marking the completion of major renovations to its indoor Pharmacy and drive-thru, Health Information Management (HIM) department, and Outreach and Enrollment department. The event will take place at CFH’s main location, 505 N. Jackson Street, Jackson, Michigan, and is open to the public. A formal ribbon-cutting will be held at 4:30 PM, followed by a virtual tour, refreshments, and raffle.

Grand River Farmers Market at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital.  3 PM to 7 PM.  A brand new evening market created to connect locally produced agricultural goods to our greater community! Stop by for tons of seasonal fresh fruits & veggies, herbs, eggs, flowers, pork, fish, chicken, syrup, honey, mushrooms, microgreens, sourdough & other artisan breads, sweets, treats, cider, soups/mixes, oil & spices, nut butters, pantry goods, frozen foods, hot foods, live music, food trucks, pet treats, and even a few artisans if you need a bit of retail therapy! 40 Years in the Hood:  The Detroit Heidelberg Project Exhibition at Ella Sharp Museum.  Witness an extraordinary exhibition curated by renowned Detroit-based artist Tyree Guyton, whose work has transformed the art world and inspired communities for over 40 years. Tyree Guyton is best known for his iconic Heidelberg Project, which has turned discarded objects into powerful symbols of community, resilience, and hope. Thank you to the Charles Aymond Foundation and Alro Steel for sponsoring 40 Years in the Hood: Detroit’s Heidelberg Project. Thanks to The Heidelberg Project for making this exhibit accessible to Jackson’s youth, neighborhoods, and surrounding communities. ESM admission rates are waived from now to October 26th!  Ella Sharp Museum.

Christmas in July Toy Drive.  Suburban Lanes is teaming up with the Hot Rod Elves Car Club and getting a jump start on the holiday toy drive they do every year with Christmas in July.
