Jackson College and JAMA Career Day.  9 AM to 12 PM. Jackson College and the Jackson Area Manufacturing Association are pairing up to offer the JAMA and Jackson College Job fair Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon and Sept. 20 from 4-6 p.m. at the Commonwealth Commerce Center, City View Room. College students and community members are invited to see who is hiring and interview for jobs. Speak with representatives of nearly 30 local companies, from manufacturing, healthcare, Michigan Department of Corrections, energy and business. This is a two-day event with employers in multiple industries from manufacturing, business, energy, and healthcare hiring full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities.  Positions range from entry-level to highly skilled opportunities and companies are willing to train where available.  This event is open to the public; no appointment is necessary for same-day interviews.  

La hora del cuento en español e inglés – Bilingual Storytime.  10 AM.  Join us for a special bilingual storytime for children ages 2-5 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month!  Carnegie Library: September 19, 10 AM.  Spring Arbor Branch: September 28, 11 AM.

Imagine Planet Rock and Mineral Theme Day. Our theme day for September will be rock and mineral identification.  Bring up to 5 specimens of rocks or minerals (fossils will be another day) and we will teach you how to identifiy them.  Visit our newly updated rock and mineral exhibits and shop at our gift shop, where nothing is over $15!  Imagine Planet, 730 Tomlinson St, Jackson.
