Bright Walls “Bright Spots”.  Bright Walls is bringing you more “bright spots” to help get through 2020!   Three artists from the United States will be in Jackson from September 6–13. They will be painting murals on buildings in town that allow for appropriate social distancing and we hope you’ll swing by during or after their stay to enjoy the art!  Special thanks to Henry Ford Allegiance HealthConsumers Energy and Jackson Anchor Initiative for partnering with us in this unexpected and off-year to bring #JacksonMI something special. Ms. Julie’s Sunshine Preschool Open House.  Sunshine Preschool at Lil’ Friends Learning Center.  Sunshine Preschool is a place of comfort where all children feel confident to learn at their own pace.  Encouraging creativity and providing a place where children can express themselves, the children are encouraged and guided in intellectual, physical and emotional growth a safe, nurturing ac caring environment.  During the Open House, parents and students will meet the Preschool Teacher, Julie Vander Velde, and receive a parent packet.  Cookies and punch will be provided.s  5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  3107 Hayes Street, Jackson.

Functional Training for Parkinson’s.  A new outdoor group exercise class for those with Parkinson’s disease.  Tuesdays at 10 AM.  Please arrive at 9:45 AM.  Cascades Park, near the falls.  Weather permitting, the class will take place on the right side of the falls, located by the baseball fields near the green pavilion.  The location features easy access to parking and restrooms.  Cost:  $10 per class.  Class consists of stretches, shadow boxing, strength, voice activation and more.  Bring folding chair, water, mask, mat, and boxing gloves.  For more information, or to pre-register, contact Mailynn Pratt at mailynn@jacksonymca.org or call 517-782-0537.

Diabetes Path Online Workshop.  Diabetes Path (Personal Action Toward Health) is a 6-week workshop designed to help people with Diabetes improve their health & feel better.  It’s effectively designed for people with Diabetes Type I or II, Pre-Diabetes, and/or Caregivers for someone with diabetes.   DPATH teaches several tools for self-managing their health condition. People who attend learn how to face daily challenges of living with a chronic health condition while still having a healthy and meaningful lifestyle.   TUESDAYS* from 1:30-4:00pm, SEPTEMBER 1- October 6, 2020.  You will sign in through Zoom either on your home computer, ipad, or smart phone.
