Jackson School of the Arts Fall Open House. 4 PM to 6 PM. If you’re considering joining us for after-school classes or preschool, Jackson School of the Arts will host a Fall Open House on Wednesday, August 31 from 4 to 6 PM. You can meet us at our second-floor reception area for registration assistance, dancewear shopping or even tours of our facilities if you’re looking to familiarize yourself with our beautiful-renovated space in Downtown Jackson! We will also be having Open Houses for our Childcare Academy (All-Day Creative Preschool) and Kids Create Preschool Experience (mornings-only 2 days a week) in case you have little ones! Grand Opening Farm Sudz Chelsea. 5 PM. Come celebrate our new location in Chelsea with our Chelsea Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting and our Grand Opening party! We’ll have food and drinks for you to enjoy while checking out our new beautiful space. We will definitely miss our underground speakeasy, especially our wonderful landlords who were amazing, supportive, and generous right from the beginning. But we just needed more space to cook up that Sudzy goodness (and Sidney really needed a window to look out. 109 Main St. S, Chelsea.
Jackson Early Birds Toastmaster Meeting. 6:45 AM. Join the Jackson Early Birds Toastmasters Educational at Christoff’s Floor Covering Community Room or on Zoom each Wednesday from 6:45-8 am. Guests 18 and older always invited! Come learn and grow with Toastmasters a 98 yr old communication and leadership development organization.
Jackson YMCA Fall Registration. Along with our traditional programs including after-school time, swim lessons, adult group ex classes, youth sports and more, we have exciting new programs this fall, including:
- Sports conditioning and Tai Chi for ages 7-12. These classes are held at 5:30 pm, so adults can get their workout in while their kids have fun and learn new skills.
- Preschool Swim & Gym. Parents can drop off kids ages 3-5 on Wed. mornings from 8:30-10:30 pm for swimming and games; parents are welcome to stay in or leave the facility during class.
- Adult Flag Football. For 18 and up.
- Drop and Shop. In place of Parents Night Out this fall, we’re offering these 10 am-1 pm times on Nov. 26 and Dec. 17 for kids ages 6-12. Parents can do their holiday shopping or just have some “me” time.
