Nite Lites Drive Thru Christmas Light Show.  Every night through December 31, 2020.  Michigan International Speedway.  US 12 Entrance Only.  12626 US-12, Brooklyn.  Hours:  Sunday thru Thursday, 5:30 PM to 9 PM.  Friday and Saturday 5:30 PM to 10 PM. Pricing: $25 per car/vehicle (Sunday thru Thursday), $30 per car/vehicle (Friday & Saturday).  $45 per limo/motorhome/mini bus.  $100 per tour bus.  Most credit cards accepted.  We DO NOT accept “tap and go” cards or Apple Pay.

Spirited:  Prohibition in America.  Ella Sharp Museum.  “Spirited: Prohibition in America”.  On view until January 7, this exhibition explores the tumultuous time in American history, when flappers and suffragists, bootleggers and temperance lobbyists, and legends, such as Al Capone and Carry Nation, took sides in this battle against the bottle. Center Stage Jackson Auditions:  The Tempest.  Center Stage Jackson is still accepting self tapes/video auditions through JANUARY 1st for our virtual production of THE TEMPEST, directed by Sara Long!  We are seeking adults and youth age 12+, all genders! Around 15 actors are needed for this production. From auditions to rehearsals, to the recorded performance, everything will be done online.  We understand that this audition process is new for many actors. Explore The Trail System in Jackson.  Trails walking, hiking and biking are only a few of the ways you can make use of Jackson’s abundance of trails. Jackson’s trails give you a hundred great excuses to get out and experience nature in its purest form.

 Falling Waters Trail, an integral part of the statewide proposed Iron-Belle and Great Lake to Lake Trails. Placed where Michigan Central Railroad once stood, the Falling Waters Trail is a 10.6-mile linear park connecting the Village of Concord to the City of Jackson.  Next, the Falling Waters Trail continues for 3.4 miles as the Martin Luther King Equality Trail, formerly the Inter-City Trail, from Jackson’s Weatherwax Drive to Morrell Street. And finally, the Grand River Arts Walk leads walkers, joggers and cyclists from Downtown Jackson through the Arts District and onto Monroe Street.

Waterloo Recreation Area, the largest state park in the lower peninsula, contains enough trails to last a lifetime. 47 miles of hiking trails,12 miles of interpretive nature trails, and another 12 miles of equestrian trails are all nestled within 20,000 acres of protected forest.

The MacCready Reserve, south of town, includes 6.5 miles of dog-friendly trails among 400 acres of lush forest environment.

The Dahlem provides five miles of diverse trails. Walk among forests, fields, marshes and ponds, including a ⅜-mile trail for those with limited mobility, called the “The Nature For All Trail”. Trails are open year-round.

Jeff Daniels Wharton Center Virtual Performance.  Join Michigan native and Emmy award-winning actor, director, singer/song-writer Jeff Daniels on Thursday, December 31, at 8pm or 10:30pm, for a virtual New Year’s Eve concert from his home to yours. Featuring songs from his new album, Alive and Well Enough, Daniels crafts an intimate, entertaining, and unforgettable evening. Music lovers and movie fans alike love his songs, playing and musicianship, and those stories that only he can tell.  Following the performance, stick around for an audience Q&A.  Audience members will have the opportunity to submit questions for review and possibly a reply.
