Red Cross Blood Drive.   10 a.m. – 3:45 p.m., Jackson College, 2111 Emmons Rd, (Central Campus), Jackson.  The American Red Cross has extended its urgent call for donors of all blood types to give blood or platelets. With influenza escalating across the country and preventing some donors from giving, and winter weather threatening to cancel blood drives, the Red Cross now has a critical shortage of type O blood and urgently needs donors to restock the shelves.

Also don’t forget doors are at 7 PM show starts at 8 PM!   About your headliner Tom McCarthy, a Michigan native who cut his chops working the clubs, contests, dive bars, senior centers and ice cream socials of the 1990’s Detroit Comedy Scene. He moved to LA with stars in his eyes and loose change in his pockets and soon found himself performing at some of the most legendary clubs in comedy like the Laugh Factory on the Sunset Strip. He has opened for and worked with Comedy Central and Netflix stars Nate Bargatze, Shane Mauss, Chris Porter, and Jordan Carlos.

Star Wars:  Beer Dinner.  Dust off that lightsaber and Baby Yoda swag you got for Christmas… our first beer dinner of 2020 is a celebration of all things Star Wars!  Tickets are $35 and include three courses (appetizer, entree, dessert) and three beer pairings.  Costumes encouraged!  ARRIVAL COCKTAIL:  Qui-Gon Gin & Juice.  APPETIZER:  Obi-Wan Kabobis (fruit skewers) // Tauntaun White IPA.  ENTREE:  Roasted Porg (Cornish hen), Darth Vader Taters (roasted sweet potatoes with Imperial red sauce), Less Than 12 Parsecs (roasted parsnips) // Darth Maul DIPA.  DESSERT:  Chewy Butter Cake (Kentucky-style butter cake) // Star Destroyer Stout.  7 PM Grand River Brewery.  Tickets HERE.

Things Come Apart Exhibit.  Final week!  Within every object, tool or device that we use there are dozens of components which work together to represent the creativity, passion and highest levels of achievement of their time. When it comes to the objects we use every day, the sum really is greater than the parts. “Things Come Apart” features captivating photographs of deconstructed devices, fascinating videos and encased disassembled objects that display the effects imagination has on technology and the evolution of design. “Things Come Apart” is an exhibition organized by Todd McLellan and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES).  Ella Sharp Museum.  10 AM to 5 PM.
