Summer Kids Movie Series. The Kiwanis Club of Jackson presents the Summer Kids Movie Series. This week: ”How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”. Showtimes at 11 AM and 2 PM, doors open one half hour before showtime. Admission $1. Pop and popcorn combo $4. The series runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday through the summer.
Wednesday Wine Down. Join us anytime between 5:30pm-8:00pm on the second Wednesday of each month as we welcome three specialty wine reps to the Veritas Ballroom. Each month we will highlight a different type of wine from a diverse selection of vintages and vineyards specifically chosen by our representatives. Wednesday Wine Down is a casual wine tasting event to expand your wine knowledge. As a guest you will receive 1-2 oz pours as well as Veritas hors d’oeuvres and spectacular views of downtown Jackson. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase bottles and cases of wines for pick up at a later date. Tickets are available through Eventbrite or day of at the door. Wine & Whiskers. The Cascades Humane Society’s 5th Annual Wine & Whiskers fundraiser. Wine paired with complimentary personal charcuterie plate At Sandhill Crane Vineyards, 4724 Walz Rd., Jackson. Teen Painting at the Meijer Branch. 1 PM. Tweens and teens will enjoy learning to paint a scene with a Jackson School of the Arts staff member. Program is intended for tweens and teens 11-18. This event will take place at the Jackson District Library Meijer Branch and registration is required. To register, click here.
Nixon Water Park. 11 AM to 3 PM. Nixon Water Park is open for the summer season. The Nixon Water Park is located inside Nixon Park at 400 E. North St. It contains a water slide, full pool, waterfall, and wading area. The complex also hosts an event space for community use. The water park is open Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Aug. 20. The cost is $5 per person or 10 swim passes for $40.
