US Women’s National Balloon Championship.  The 2023 US Women‘s National Championship will take place July 16-21 in Jackson, Michigan. This year‘s event will precede the 40th anniversary of Jackson‘s Hot Air Jubilee weekend. The Championship is sanctioned by the Balloon Federation of America (BFA) and its Hot Air Competition Division (HACD).  It’s a Celebration!  The 40th Anniversary of Jackson’s Hot Air Jubilee – this year a full week of ballooning as Jackson hosts the Women’s National Balloon Championship.   The Women’s competition flights will occur July 17-21, leading up to the Hot Air Jubilee July 21-23, at Ella Sharp Park.    Hot Air Balloons will fill the skies during the weekend with launches scheduled for Friday evening, Saturday morning and evening and Sunday morning, weather permitting, with fantastic ‘night glows’ in the evenings. Other activities include helicopter rides, a car show, Jeep night, and Kids’ Kingdom, free bounce house and inflatable obstacle course , and there will be Food Trucks and a Beer Tent.  Visit Hot Air Jubilee for more information!

ReConnect on Campus.  Jackson College will join colleges across the state promoting the Michigan Reconnect program with Reconnect on Campus week, featuring an open house and informational session Wednesday, July 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Bert Walker Hall Community Rooms.   Presented in conjunction with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Development, colleges across the state are hosting events throughout the week as part of a statewide campaign to connect working-age adults with postsecondary educational opportunities.  Michigan Reconnect is the largest effort in state history to ensure that Michiganders who are 25 and older and do not have a college degree — more than 4.1 million in all — will have an opportunity to earn an associate degree or skills certificate with free or discounted tuition. Since the program’s launch in February 2021, more than 100,000 state residents have been accepted into the program. At Jackson College, 1,302 students have participated in the program. Grass Lake Farmers Market and Music in the Park.  “Music in the Park” is celebrating the 11th year in Grass Lake. Come join us for fun, family friendly, and free entertainment at the Grass Lake Events Park Pavilion, at 120 Brown St, Grass Lake.  When: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, May thru September.  Time: 6:30PM-8:00PM.  The Farmers Market starts at 4 PM.  Tonight’s entertainment by Steve Berkemeier.

Family Night at the Cascades.  Family Night with entertainment by New Rule and appearances by Superheros.  July 19, 2023.  Entertainment at 7pm.  Grand Light Show at 10pm.  Admission is $10 for family (up to 8 members).

DJ Trivia at Not so Shabby Oh so Chic.  6 PM to 8 PM.  DJ Trivia is the best Trivia Night ever! Featured in great restaurants and bars across the nation, DJ Trivia is a Fun, Live, Interactive Trivia Game that includes you, your team, other teams, and a live DJ host. Cascades Humane Society Wine & Whiskers.  Summer breezes. Delicious wine. Good food.
