The Sandstone Congregational Church will be hosting its monthly Swiss Steak Dinner on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.  The menu will be Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, rolls, homemade desserts and beverage.  The church is located at 250 Sandstone Road.    The fellowship center is located on the lower level.   The cost is $9:00.  Take outs are available.  For additional information call 750-4245 or 474-1209.

Michigan Theatre presents Summer Kids Movie Series:  “The Emoji Movie”.  Hidden inside a smartphone, the bustling city of Textopolis is home to all emojis. Each emoji has only one facial expression, except for Gene, an exuberant emoji with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his best friend Hi-5 and a notorious code breaker called Jailbreak. During their travels through the other apps, the three emojis discover a great danger that could threaten their phone’s very existence. Doors open one half hour before film.  11 AM and 2 PM.  $4 Combos:  Small Pop and Small Popcorn.  Admission 1 Dollar.  Sponsored by 2019 Annual Spring Tea at Baker College and Kiwanis Club of Jackson.

Eat Healthy, Be Active.  11:00 AM.  Join Angela Maniachi of the MSU Extension at the Jackson District Library Concord Branch to learn about the benefits of healthy food and regular physical activity! Topics will include reaching and maintaining a healthy weight, preparing quick, healthy, and budget-friendly meals and snacks while managing your food resources.  Get a certificate and gift for attending at least 4 classes!  Call the Concord Branch at 517-905-1379 to register.

Yoga at Eastern Branch, Jackson District Library.  Join us at the Jackson District Library Eastern Branch to relax, unwind, and take care of your body with the slow and gentle flow of yoga! Bring your own mat; if you do not have one, a limited amount may be available. $3.00 suggested donation.  3 PM.

Livability at Carnegie.  3 PM to 5 PM..  Carnegie Library invites adults with special needs to join us twice a month for crafts and games in the auditorium!  Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.

Family Night at Allskate.  Bring the whole family, Mom, Dad and the kids! Adm is only $4, skate rental $, Laser Tag only $4. Early Bird Food specials will be featured, so bring your appetite as well. Family Fun Pack only $40 includes: Skating, rental skates, 10 game tokens each, 1 game of Laser Tag each for (4) people. Summer Slime & Science Lab.  Jackson School of the Arts.  Ages 4-7 5:00-6:00.  Ages 8-12 6:30-7:30.  Beakers, Bubbles, & colorful explosions…. Mix up some bubbly creations, make messy experiments, and watch them overflow with brilliant colors of fun. Learn the recipes to make your own glittery slime.
