
Summer Safety Series. 12 PM to 1:30 PM. The City of Jackson Police and Fire Departments are teaming up again for the annual Summer Safety Series, bringing free family fun, safety information, and community connection to parks across Jackson. These events are a great way for residents to meet local police officers and firefighters in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Kids can enjoy games, free food, safety activities, and the chance to get an up-close look at police cars and fire trucks. Children and teens who attend and participate will have a chance to enter special prize raffles. Today’s event is at Kiwanis Park. The Summer Safety Series is free and open to the public. Come enjoy lunch, meet your local police and fire departments, and learn how we can all work together to keep Jackson safe this summer.
$1 Summer Kids Movie Series. Make a splash at the Michigan Theatre with Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken as part of our Summer Kids Movie Series, sponsored by Kiwanis & Southern Michigan Bank and Trust. Ruby Gillman is a shy teenager just trying to survive high school without standing out. But when she discovers she comes from a legendary family of sea krakens, Ruby has to embrace who she really is and dive into an adventure bigger than she ever imagined. A fun, colorful family movie about friendship, courage and finding your place. Admission is just $1. Bubbleman Ron. 2 PM to 3 PM. Join us for an indoor, non-messy, bubble program demonstrating the art and science of the soap bubble! Napoleon Branch: June 10, 2 PM During this 45-minute program, Ron and Gloria Loyd use ordinary soap bubble solution to create volcano bubbles, tornado bubbles, kaleidoscope bubbles, square bubbles, merry-go-round bubbles, and much more. Their program is filled with ideas that can be tried at home, involves audience participation, and is designed to teach children and adults the joy of exploring science by playing with the simple bubble. Grass Lake Road Runners Wednesday Evening Group Run. 6 PM. Wednesday group runs are back and better than ever! We have been wonderfully welcomed by Prates Place to serve as our mid-week headquarters. Leatherworking for Kids. 5 PM to 6 PM. This program, presented by Kids N Stuff Children’s Museum, teaches kids the basics of leatherworking! From cutting to stamping to riveting, students learn how leather…works! Summit Branch: June 10, 5 PM.
