
Ride of Silence. 6:45 PM. The Cascades Cycling Club will host the Ride of Silence on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:45 pm starting from Horace Blackman Park in downtown Jackson. The ride will be an 8 mile “slow roll” through town to pay our respects to riders who have been injured or killed while cycling, and to remind motorists and city officials of our right to ride on public streets. This will be a police-escorted ride. Please join us for this is a free event. T-shirts commemorating the ride will be provided while supplies last. Plan to arrive at Horace Blackman Park in downtown Jackson by 6:45 pm as the ride will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Helmets are required.
Jackson Audubon Society Birdathon. The Jackson Audubon Society will be participating in the2026 Michigan Audubon Birdathon. This is a 24-hour marathon birding event held at Haehnle Sanctuary. The goal is to have the JAS team count as many species on the property in one day as possible. This fundraising event of Michigan Audubon will pass along a portion of the proceeds to Jackson Audubon Society. Online donations can be made for the JAS team. We are competing against other teams across the state. We get a portion of the donations for participating. If our team has the highest donations or highest bird count, our portion from MA is increased by 150%. Meijer Cinema Club Classic Movie Screenings. 5 PM to 7:30 PM. Experience the communal joy of classic cinema with the Meijer Cinema Club – screening critically acclaimed, culturally significant films every Wednesday evening here in the Community Room from 5 to 7:30 PM!. Today: May 20 – School of Rock (2003). We encourage bringing blankets/cushions for comfort and some snacks to enjoy during the screening. We hope to see you there!
