Cortland Street, in Jackson Monday thru Friday, May 19-23, 9:00am to 4:00pm daily. A week-long celebration of public transportation! 40 Years in the Hood:  The Detroit Heidelberg Project Exhibition at Ella Sharp Museum.  Witness an extraordinary exhibition curated by renowned Detroit-based artist Tyree Guyton, whose work has transformed the art world and inspired communities for over 40 years. Tyree Guyton is best known for his iconic Heidelberg Project, which has turned discarded objects into powerful symbols of community, resilience, and hope. Thank you to the Charles Aymond Foundation and Arlo Steel for sponsoring 40 Years in the Hood: Detroit’s Heidelberg Project. Thanks to The Heidelberg Project for making this exhibit accessible to Jackson’s youth, neighborhoods, and surrounding communities. Summer Discover Registration at the Jackson District Library.  Registration for Summer Discover is now open!  All ages can particpate in this reading challenge – just read 4 hours between June 1 and July 31 to earn a grand prize entry. Prizes include gift cards to local favorites like Jackson 10, Allskate Fun Center, and Knutson’s Sporting Goods, along with camping gear, Squishmallows, and more for the entire family to enjoy. Readers ages 0-17 receive a free book for registering for Summer Discover, and all readers have a choice of a teddy bear, chocolate bar, or tote bag for a completion prize.  Sign up here.
