Positive Aging Pumpkin Fest.  1:30 PM. Jackson College’s Affinity Liaison for the Elderly will present a free event, the Positive Aging Pumpkin Fest, for senior citizens to learn more about local services available to them, at 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4 in Justin Whiting Hall, Room 109, with a presentation to start at 2 p.m. WellWise Services Area Agency on Aging will present an information session regarding programs designed to help older adults and adults with disabilities live independently and safely at home. Great resources for caregivers will also be provided. For those who need help navigating the Medicare/Medicaid Open Enrollment period, WellWise staff will be available to answer questions and offer the opportunity to sign up for individual appointments. WellWise strives to improve the quality of life for older adults and adults with disabilities. Guests may also tour the Jackson College Dental Clinic and learn more about the services offered to the community. The Health Clinic and Oasis Center offer service to JC students of any age; guests may explore what they have to offer as well. Jackson College’s respiratory therapy program will offer pulse oximetry assessments, and Brown’s Advanced Care Pharmacy will offer information on their Med Packs. ONE PIECE Card Game.  4 PM to 9 PM.  $5 Entry Fee for tournament play: SIGN-UP in advance for a chance to win free stuff like starter decks, booster packs, card sleeves, deck boxes, promos, etc! Casual play is FREE! Spend a few hours with us on Wednesdays learning the game and/or getting some competitive play in! Wednesday Lorcana League.  Join us every Wednesday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. to play Disney Lorcana!   Lorcana League is FREE to attend and is open to everyone.  Don’t know how to play? We will teach you.  We meet at The Arena 1949 Lansing Ave Jackson.

Gear Up:  The Science of Bikes. From schoolyards and mountain trails to bustling city streets, we encounter bicycles nearly every day. Since its inception in the late 19th century, the bicycle has affected how people live, work, and play. Its popularity has only grown over time, and it is as relevant today as it was 100 ago. Visitors of GEAR UP will learn how bikes work, the science and technology behind the machine as well as the history and evolution of the bike and how bikes have impacted our culture. Like the bicycle itself, this exhibition has been designed to appeal to people of all ages with diverse interests, from STEM to design to history to art.  Now on exhibit at Ella Sharp Museum.
