Little Shop of Horrors Auditions.  6 PM to 9:30 PM.  Jackson College’s Theatre Department is thrilled to announce this fall’s production: the hilarious sci-fi musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors! Meijer Cinema Club – Classic Movie Screenings. The Meijer Cinema Club commences its fall series, held in the Community Room every Wednesday night from 5 to 7:30 PM!.  Today’s movie:  Vertigo (1958).  We encourage bringing blankets/cushions for comfort and some snacks to enjoy during the screening. Fuzz Rock Night with Carbon Decoy.  Fuzz Rock Night in The Hollow at Ogma — on Wednesday, September 9 (7–10 PM). Join us as Kurmudgeon, Sleeper Pool and our homies in Carbon Decoy hit us with a heavy dose of jams and fuzz rock! Beers will be flowing in The Hollow. Free event. All ages.  Ogma Brewing Company, 129 East Michigan, downtown Jackson.

Jackson District Library Staff Art Show. See beyond our desks to appreciate the art of our Jackson District Libraries staff members. We have collected pieces from all of our staff around the district to put on display here at the Eastern Branch for the entire month of September. Come in, have a look, and leave inspired!  Collection open to view during all open hours.

Pathways of Patriotism: Exploring Jackson County’s Revolutionary Roots Exhibit.  Created to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary and highlight the community’s enduring commitment to the nation’s founding ideals.  Free to the public through the generous support of America250MI, the exhibit is displayed at the historic Jackson Amtrak Station, 501 E. Michigan Avenue, and will remain on view through December 2026. The Jackson train station is the oldest continually operating train station in the United States.
