The Kiwanis Kids Series returns with “Captain Underpants”. Doors open a half hour before show time. Screening times 11 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. Admission is 1 Dollar.  Michigan Theatre of Jackson.

The Green Market at Henry Ford Allegiance Health.  We focus on natural, sustainable Michigan produce and products.  All foods and products sold at The Green Market at Henry Ford Allegiance Health are grown and/or produced in Michigan using little or no pesticides, herbicides, inorganic fertilizers, or antibiotics.  This means healthier foods for the greater Jackson community and less pollution for our rivers and lakes.  In the parking lot, corner of Waterloo and East Michigan Avenue. Across from the hospital.   9 AM to 2 PM.

The Jackson YMCA presents Outdoor Summer Fun, free events for members and the community.  Bootcamp.  Meet at the Cascades Rotary Bandshell.  6 PM to 7 PM.  Every Thursday in June.

Front Porch Concert Series at Jackson College.  Albion’s “River Jazz” tonight at 7 PM.  On the front porch of Potter Center, Jackson College Central Campus.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the music!  Free!

Ella’s Patio Party tonight at Ella Sharp Museum.  The featured entertainment is by My Back Pages.  Enjoy appetizers from local favorites, a cash bar and explore the galleries.  5:30 to 7:30 PM.  Free for members, $5 for non-members.  All ages welcome.  Sponsored by Rehmann.

Sights and Sounds on Thursday Nights. A variety of music, art, comedy, and family entertainment.  Now in its 14th year, the weekly outdoor concert series is recognized for its mixture of music from jazz to country to indie rock and more. The Purple Rose Theatre presents Willow Run, a world premiere by Jeff Duncan, directed by Guy Sanville. During WWII the Willow Run Bomber Plant located near Ypsilanti was the largest factory under one roof in the world. Some 40,000 employees, mostly women, turned out B-24 Bombers at the rate of one every 55 minutes. Willow Run follows the journey of four of those women who migrated from all over America to find new lives at the plant. Along the way they overcome a multitude of challenges, learn to endure new sorrows, overcome deep-seated prejudices and forge new friendships. Winner of the 2017 Edgerton Foundation New Play Award. 1st Annual Safe Haven Benefit.  An evening of heavy appetizers, mingling, auction opportunities, listening to local abuse experts, and live entertainment.  $35 at the door.  Presented by Region 2 Area Agency on Aging.  5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, The Pointe Bar & Grill, 1200 Eagle Point Road, Clark Lake.
