The Eastern Branch of the Jackson District Library presents Matt Damon movies Thursdays in November at 2 PM.  Today’s movie is The Great Wall (2016, PG-13) .  Free admission and free popcorn.  Intended for adults.  Widescreen and comfortable seats too!

The Hurst Planetarium at Ella Sharp Museum presents Phantom of the Universe, The Hunt for Dark Matter.  Join us as we showcase an exciting exploration of dark matter, from the Big Bang to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider. See the first hints of its existence through the eyes of Fritz Zwicky, the scientist who coined the term “dark matter.” From there explore the astral choreography witnessed by Vera Rubin in the Andromeda Galaxy and then plummet deep underground to see the most sensitive dark matter detector on Earth, housed in a former gold mine. Finally journey across space and time to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, to learn how scientists around the world are collaborating to track down the constituents of dark matter.  6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Sauk presents “It’s A Wonderful Life”.  All performances take place at the Sauk Theatre, 240 E. Chicago St. in Jonesville. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (55 and up) and students and $8 for children (12 and under). Tickets can be purchased at www.thesauk.org or by calling 517-849-9100. The November 30 performance is a “Pay What You Can” preview.
