Welcome to summer!  The Jackson County Republican Party is hosting the 2017 Lincoln Day Luncheon at Commonwealth Commerce Center, City View Room (5th floor) from 11:30am to 1:30pm.  Special guest speaker is Retired Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert Young Jr.  Luncheon and program is $40.

The Kiwanis  of Brooklyn and Jackson present Summer Kids Film Series at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson. Movies will be presented on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only. $1.00 admission for all ages. Show times at 10am and 2pm.  This week’s movie is Disney’s Moana.  For more information call (517) 783-0811.

Reading Between the Wines at Sandhill Crane Vineyards.  The Eastern Branch of the Jackson District Library hosts this monthly event,   On the third Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. pairing great wines with great books. Wine tasting is $5.  Registration is required since space is limited.  Please call the Eastern Branch at (517) 788-4074 for the book title and registration.  This club meets at Sandhill Crane Vineyard 4724 Walz Rd. Jackson. 

Wednesday Family Night at the Cascades Falls tonight at 7pm.  Greg Jaqua, the most sought-after Elvis Presley Tribute Artist in this part of the country, and his band have been entertaining audiences in the U.S. Canada and Europe for over a decade with his tribute to “The King”.  Gates open at 7pm.  Admission is $10 for up to 8 family members.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is hosting St. Stephen United Methodist Church, Mesquite, Texas as they present Elation! in concert with Godspell, a musical based upon the Gospel according to St. Matthew.  Show time is 7pm and admission is free.  Westminster Presbyterian Church is located at 2301 Ridgeway Road in Jackson.  517-787-4017.

The Bohm Theatre in Albion is presenting an early screening of Transformers:  The Last Knight today at the Bohm I at 7pm.  On the screen at Bohm II is Cars 3 at 6:30pm.
