Women’s History Month Film Series at the Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.  Each documentary in this six-part series examines the impact of the women’s movement on six fields once largely closed to women. Directed by some of the country’s leading independent filmmakers, MAKERS brings to life new and unforgettable stories that every woman, man, girl and boy should know.  Women in Space (2014, TV-PG) and Women in Politics (2014, TV-PG).  6 PM to 8 PM.  Free admission.  This series contains mature content, including language that may not be appropriate for all viewers.

Kids Create Preschool Experience Open House and Registration Event.  Meet with one of our instructors, and learn about this wonderful program. Kids Create is a class for children ages 3 1/2-5 and is ideal for a child’s first class away from home or as a supplement or substitute to traditional preschool programs. This class runs for the full school year two mornings a week for 2 1/2 hours. Our instructors engage students through a variety of creative experiences including sculpture, painting, drawing, creative movement and music. This program provides social, motor, and creative experiences that excite love for learning through the arts.  Jackson School of the Arts, 634 North Mechanic Street, Jackson.  12 N to 2 PM.

Spring Equinox Yoga Rave.  Celebrate the Spring Equinox with a YOGA RAVE.  Yoga at 6:00 p.m. – followed by Live Music and a DANCE Party.  Nourish yourself with Healthy Snacks & Drinks afterwards.  Bring a friend and CONNECT with our Yoga Community.  $20 Donation benefiting the YMCA After School Programs.  Studio Deeply Art, 634 North Mechanic Street, Jackson.

American Red Cross Blood Drive.  8 AM to 1:45 PM at Napoleon High School, 201 West Avenue, Napoleon.  Details at redcrossblood.org.  The American Red Cross is ready for spring and milder weather after nor’easters and severe winter storms in some parts of the country forced the cancellation of thousands of blood and platelet donations in March. Your help is especially needed this month!

AARP Michigan presents Finances 50+ at Carnegie Branch, Jackson District Library.  Take charge of your financial future.  Finances 50+ is here to help.  6 PM to 7:30 PM.  The event is free.
