Baseball

Napoleon 22, Reading 10: Christian Nykamp had two hits for the Pirates. 

Quincy 16, East Jackson 2: Amarr Hunter had the only hit in the game for the Trojans. 

Quincy 16, East Jackson 1: Logan Stump finished with a pair of hits for East Jackson (2-3-1). 

Lansing Eastern 11, Jackson 7: Steven Devaughn had three hits and Connor Bush knocked in three runs and homered for the Vikings. 

Jackson 19, Lansing Eastern 8: The Vikings scored 19 runs in only four innings at the plate. Steven Devaughn, Marian Grayer, and Kaspar Haehnle each recorded three hits for Jackson. 

Chelsea 4, Lumen Christi 2: Cooper Cumberworth had two hits including a double and an RBI for the Titans. 

Softball

Grass Lake 3, Western 1: The Warriors scored twice in the fifth inning to pull out the win. Emily Guthrie hit a home run and scored a pair of runs for Grass Lake. Laney Brown earned the pitching win for GLHS with 13 strikeouts. Staunicy Hendricks  and Abby Nieswender led Western with a pair of hits each in the contest. 

Grass Lake 12, Western 2: Grass Lake scored eight of its 12 runs in the final two innings of the game. Olivia Turner had four hits and knocked in four runs for Grass Lake in the win. Katelyn Postuma earned the pitching win and had three hits for the Warriors. Nicole Wilson finished with four hits for the Panthers. 

Napoleon 12, Reading 5: Napoleon High School scored nine runs in the last three innings to pull out the win. Alyssa Budd finished with four hits and three RBIs for the Pirates. Raye Burke earned the pitching win with nine strikeouts in seven innings pitched. 

Napoleon 14, Reading 6: Karson Fairbanks hit a home run and knocked in four runs for the Pirates. Madi Breining finished with three hits for Napoleon (4-2). 

East Jackson 18, Quincy 15: Aubree Bell went 4-for-5 and knocked in three runs for the Trojans. Savanna Currey won both games for East Jackson in the sweep. 

East Jackson 17, Quincy 7: The Trojans scored 17 runs on only six hits in sweeping the two-game series. Bree Baxter had two hits and knocked in four runs for EJHS. 

Howell 15, Northwest 0: Northwest High School could only muster one hit in the game. 

Howell 13, Northwest 3: Ava Golightly had two hits for the Mounties in the loss. 

Boys track and field

Concord 81, Springport 31: Mekhi Wingfield broke a school record in the long jump – one that has lasted 54 years. Wingfield jumped 22 feet, 4 inches to set the new record at Concord. Wingfield had his leaping shoes on winning the high jump with 6-4. Multiple individual winners included Adair Artis who won the 400-meter dash (53.47) and the 800-meter run (2:20) for Concord and Patrick Culbreth of Springport who won the discus (113-10) and the shot put (33-9). 

Girls track and field

Springport 68, Concord 38: Springport High School easily won the meet, but Cieara Barrett of Concord was the star. She won three events taking first place in the 800-meter run (2:51), the 1,600-meter run (6:05), and the long jump (14-7). Saige Patterson of Springport won the pole vault (6-6) and the 300-meter hurdles (59.2). 

Girls soccer

Columbia Central 4, Michigan Center 1: Columbia Central led 2-0 at halftime on goals by Alyssa Stewart and Lydia Stewart in the closing minutes of the first half. Peyton Huston and Jaden Bates each scored for CCHS in the second half. Julia Reynolds scored the only goal of the game for Michigan Center. Allie Jarchow earned the win in net for CCHS (1-1). 

Kalamazoo Christian 5, Lumen Christi 0: The Titans fell to 1-2-1 with the home loss. 

Laingsburg 6, Northwest 1: Northwest High School is now 1-2 on the season. 

Loy Norrix 3, Western 1: Kaydence Watson scored the goal for Western in the non-conference match Monday night. 

Boys golf

Mason 161, Northwest 172: Ryan Stevens shot a 40 and Jake Brafford carded a 42 for the Mounties at Hankerd Hills Golf Course. 

Tennis

Chelsea 8, Northwest 0: Hailey Rowley lost a tough match 6-3 and 6-3 at No. 1 singles for the Mounties.
