Baseball

Columbia Central 4, Hudson 2: Nick Wilding knocked in two runs at the plate and earned the pitching win for CCHS going all seven innings. Ryan Ladd also finished with two hits for the Golden Eagles. 

Hudson 6, Columbia Central 3: The Tigers scored four times in the seventh inning to pull out the victory. Ryan Hammond finished with two hits and Nick Wilding knocked in two more runs for CCHS. 

East Jackson 8, Hanover-Horton 6: East Jackson scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the win. Bryce Fowler finished with two hits and knocked in three runs and Landon Roberts tallied two hits for East Jackson. Channing Hull finished with three hits and Luke Soper added a pair of hits and an RBI for the Comets. 

Hanover-Horton 13, East Jackson 0: Lukas Nadell knocked in three runs and Braylon Sayles finished with two hits for the Comets. Luke Soper and Jack Wooster combined for the shutout victory for HHHS. The Trojans only registered one hit in the loss.  

Grass Lake 9, Michigan Center 0: Brayden Lape struck out 16 batters on the mound and pitched a complete game for the Warriors. Lape, Luke Guthrie, and Jack Reid collected multiple hits for GLHS. Carter McCave had two of the Cardinals’ four hits in the contest. 

Grass Lake 13, Michigan Center 4: Blake Stark earned the pitching win and Walker McKibbin threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen for the Warriors. Brayden Lape and Bryant Cook had multiple-hit games for GLHS. Karter Hall registered two hits and Brennan Forward knocked in a pair of runs for Michigan Center. 

Tecumseh 14, Jackson 3: Kaspar Haehnle finished with two hits and two RBIs for the Vikings. 

Manchester 19, Napoleon 0: Manchester tagged Napoleon for 16 runs in the third inning to blow open the game. 

Manchester 3, Napoleon 0: The Pirates managed eight hits, but could not push across any runs in the Cascades Conference matchup. 

Lumen Christi 10, Hastings 0: Gabe King threw a one-hitter on the mound and collected three hits at the plate for the Titans. 

Lumen Christi 16, Hastings 0: Landon Roberts and Jackson Kremer each had a hit and two RBIs for the Titans. Kremer earned the pitching win striking out four batters and only allowing one hit in three innings pitched.

Softball

Hanover-Horton 12, East Jackson 1: Alexyn Dubois threw a no-hitter for the Comets despite giving up one run. Dani Riggs finished with two hits and three RBIs for Hanover-Horton. 

Hanover-Horton 19, East Jackson 2: Alexyn Dubois hit a home run and knocked in two runs for Hanover-Horton. Katie Stroede finished with four hits and Amierah Jarrett collected three hits for the Comets in the win. Kilah Boatright had a hit and RBI for the Trojans.  

Grass Lake 15, Michigan Center 0: Olivia Turner, Katelyn Postuma, and Bree Salts all homered for the Warriors in the win. Laney Brown pitched a three-inning no-hitter for Grass Lake striking out five batters in the process. Grass Lake is 15-1 on the season with the victory. 

Grass Lake 19, Michigan Center 0: Katelyn Postuma hit a home run and knocked in five runs for the Warriors. Bree Salts and Olivia Turner each finished with four hits for GLHS. The Cardinals could only muster one hit by Mackenzie Fredrickson in the game.  

Monroe 15, Jackson 0: The Vikings were no-hit by Monroe in the loss. 

Napoleon 11, Manchester 1: Raye Burke threw another no-hitter for Napoleon striking out nine batters in the contest. Alyssa Budd finished with three hits and three RBIs in the contest. 

Napoleon 10, Manchester 0: Karson Fairbanks hit a homer and knocked in two runs and Sydney Gallagher finished with three hits for Napoleon. Raye Burke scattered three hits in the game and struck out nine batters in the process. 

Addison 15, Vandercook Lake 0: Isabelle Patterson threw a no-hitter for the Panthers in the Cascades Conference matchup. 

Addison 19, Vandercook Lake 0: The Jayhawks were limited to three hits in the conference road loss. 

Lumen Christi 13, Hastings 0: Bella Wrozek threw a no-hitter for the Titans, striking out nine batters. Allison O’Dowd finished with three hits including a home run and Mallory Arcaro was 3-for-3 for Lumen Christi. 

Lumen Christi 14, Hastings 4: Emily Rogers finished with three triples and four RBIs and Lily Ganton finished with three hits for Lumen Christi. Olivia Berner knocked in four runs with a pair of hits for LCCHS. 

Girls track and field

Ida 87, Columbia Central 48: Rylie Aylesworth of Columbia Central won the 100-meter dash (12.8) and the 200-meter dash (27.1) in the home meet against Ida. 

Concord at Reading Tri-meet: Concord High School defeated Bronson but lost to Reading in the tri-meet. Cieara Barrett of Concord won the 800-meter run (2:40), the 1,600-meter run (6:05), and the long jump (13-6). 

Addison, Michigan Center at Hanover-Horton: No team scores were posted in www.athletic.net for this meet. Hanover-Horton individual winners were Kaytie Warren in the 100-meter dash (13.49), Sophia Reynolds won the 400-meter dash (1:02), Olivia Perrine took first place in the 1,600-meter run (5:33), and Alayna Shackelford won the pole vault (8-0). Toby Leffler won the shot put (32-0) and Grace Stephens won the high jump (4-6) for Michigan Center. 

Springport at Quincy: Springport lost to Union City (76-46) and Quincy (104-31) at Quincy High School. Hattie Gray won the 100-meter dash (13.92) and Ellee Castle won the high jump (4-5) for Springport. 

Boys track and field

Columbia Central 83.5, Ida 53.5: The Golden Eagles dominated the middle and long distance events with wins by Wyatt Vowell in the 400-meter dash (57.7) and the 3,200-meter run (11:43) and Jack Gorton in the 800-meter run (2:15) and 1,600-meter run (5:10). Broden Steinke won the shot put (43-1) and discus (116-2) and Cody Richardson took first place in the high jump (5-10) and the long jump (18-1) for CCHS. 

Concord at Reading Tri-meet: Concord defeated Reading (79-58) and Bronson (89-48) to remain undefeated in Big Eight Conference play. Concord won three of the four relays with times of 45.61 seconds in the 400-meter relay; 1:36.43 in the 800-meter relay; and 3:36 in the 1,600-meter relay. Mekhi Wingfield won the high jump (6-0) and the long jump (20-8) for the Yellow Jackets. 

Addison, Michigan Center at Hanover-Horton:  No team scores were posted in www.athletic.net for this meet. Travis Collins of Michigan Center was the star of the meet winning the 100-meter dash (11.33), the 200-meter dash (23.55), and the 400-meter dash (54.10). Teammate Noah Wisniewski won the 110-meter hurdles (17.38) and the 300-meter hurdles (45.4). Landen Boulis won the 1,600-meter run (4:54) and the 3,200-meter run (11:33) and Lucas Cain won the shot put (41-8) and discus (122-3) for the Comets. 

Springport at Quincy: Springport High School lost to Union City (103-28) and Quincy (106.5-20.5). Elijah Dyer of Springport won the 110-meter high hurdles (17.14) for the only individual victory for the Spartans. 

Girls soccer

Hanover-Horton 4, Jonesville 3: The Comets have won two consecutive matches with the home win against Jonesville Wednesday. 

Jackson 8, Ypsilanti Community 0 

Quincy 4, Michigan Center 0: Abbie Hess recorded 12 saves in net for Michigan Center.

Boys golf

Cascades Conference at Lake LeAnn: Hanover-Horton High School won another jamboree with a victory at Lake LeAnn Golf Course. The Comets finished with 160, Grass Lake was second scoring 178, Napoleon placed third with 183, Michigan Center placed fourth scoring 190, and East Jackson was seventh with a four-man total of 211. Ryder Pickering of Hanover-Horton earned medalist honors with a 36, teammate Hoyt Wrona shot a 39, and Brody Shannon of Michigan Center and Grant Davis of Napoleon tied for third with 41s. 

Coldwater jamboree: The three Jackson County schools finished first, second, and third at the first Interstate-8 Conference jamboree at Coldwater. Lumen Christi won the event (313), Western was second (330), and Northwest placed third (338). The three Jackson County schools recorded the top nine scores of the day as Nash Hanchett of Lumen Christi earned medalist honors with a 72, J.J. Miller of Northwest was second with 78, and Hayden Kim of Western, Adam Fuller of Lumen Christi, and Charlie Saunders of Lumen Christi tied for third with 80s. 

Girls tennis

Columbia Central 7, Leslie 1: Columbia Central High School improved to 5-1-2 with a home win against Leslie. The Golden Eagles swept the singles’ matches with wins by Morgan Fausz, Lily Ellison, Jordan Peek, and Ashley Yang.
