Volleyball

Columbia Central at Adrian Invitational: Columbia Central finished the day 2-3 with wins over Blissfield and Whiteford. The Golden Eagles advanced to the semifinal round losing to the host school. Alison Richardson finished with 30 kills and 25 assists, Kenzie Duncan tallied 60 digs, Rylie Aylesworth scored 24 kills, and Abbie Keller scored four aces for CCHS. 

Jackson at Owosso Invitational: The Vikings were 1-2-1 and lost in the quarterfinal round at the Owosso Invitational: Kennedy Lee finished with 15 kills and five blocks, Bryleigh Zigenfuss scored 24 kills and 22 digs, and Kialye Harrell tallied 44 assists for Jackson. 

 

Boys Soccer

Columbia Central Invitational: Columbia Central High School finished second in their own tournament with a 1-1-1 record for the day. The Golden Eagles defeated Stockbridge 3-0, tied Hillsdale 2-2, and lost to Clinton 3-0 in the final. CCHS goalie Logan Cripps earned the shutout against Stockbridge. 

Boys Tennis 

Kalamazoo Hackett 7, Lumen Christi 1: T.J. O’Neil won his match for the Titans at No. 3 singles, 6-1 and 6-3. 

 

Girls Swimming

Jackson at Howell Invitational: Jackson High School finished fifth with 236 points. Ava Martin finished third in the diving (166.55) and Isabelle Ortiz won a bronze medal in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.31) for the Vikings.  

College Athletics

Women’s Volleyball

SAU at Carroll College: The Cougars lost a pair of matches in the tournament with 3-1 losses to Rocky Mountain and Carroll College.  Camy Wedge finished with 30 assists against Rocky Mountain. Frances Churchwell tallied 29 digs for the Cougars against Rocky Mountain. 

Men’s Soccer

Spring Arbor University 5, Cleary College 2:  Abdulrahman Al-Rashed and Matheus Cunha scored two goals apiece for SAU in the home opener Saturday.
