Volleyball

Columbia Central 3, East Jackson 0: The Golden Eagles won 25-8, 25-12, and 25-16 on the road Wednesday. Alison Richardson finished with 11 kills, Berlynn Lyke dished 11 assists, and Liv Austin finished with 13 service points and three aces for CCHS. 

Concord 3, Hudson 0

Coldwater 3, Concord 0: The Yellow Jackets finished 1-1 on the night with a win over Hudson and a loss to Coldwater.  

Jackson Christian 3, Jackson Prep 0: The Royals won 25-17, 25-6, and 25-5 on the road Wednesday. Kyana Herendeen finished with seven aces, Rennie Huff scored five kills and 11 aces, and Madi Conrad dished six assists for Jackson Christian. 

Girls Cross Country

Hillsdale Invitational: Hanover-Horton High School edged Hillsdale Academy 55-51 at the invitational at Hillsdale. Olivia Perrine of Hanover-Horton placed second overall (20:39), Sophia Reynolds finished seventh (21:25), and Julianna Debozy-Crawford was 10th (21:45) for the Comets.

Concord Invitational: Grass Lake High School finished second (63), Concord was sixth (134), Napoleon placed seventh (191), and Northwest finished 10th (288) at Concord High School.  Haley Stimer of Concord finished second (21:26), teammate Ciera Barrett was sixth (21:46), Adeline Stormont of Grass Lake placed eighth (21:54), and teammate Ava Viegelahn was 10th (21:56). 

Boys Cross Country

Hillsdale Invitational: Hanover-Horton High School finished second (65) and Columbia Central was fourth (104) at Hillsdale. Landen Boulis of Hanover-Horton finished third (16:56), teammate Evan Shepherd was right behind him (17:06), and Zach Hassenzahl placed 10th (17:56) for the Comets. CCHS was led by Jack Gorton at 12th-place (18:07) and Wyatt Vowell finished 13th (18:26).  

Concord Invitational: Grass Lake High School finished fourth (129), East Jackson placed fifth (140), Jackson Prep was seventh (172), and Northwest came in 10th (242). Michael Allen of East Jackson won the event in 17:03, teammate Javin Mericle finished fourth (17:46), Kyler Pequet of Napoleon was eighth (18:17), and Zack Buttigieg of Grass Lake placed 10th (18:43). 

Boys Soccer

Columbia Central 3, Leslie 2: Columbia Central High School improved to 4-1-1 with the home win. 

Manchester 4, Grass Lake 2: The Flying Dutchmen won a key matchup in the Cascades Conference with a road victory. 

Jackson 3, Tecumseh 0: The Vikings earned a Southeastern Conference win on the road Wednesday. Jacob Chirackal scored a pair of goals for the Vikings in the first half – according to a post on Tecumseh’s school athletic site. 

Michigan Center 5, Jonesville 3: The Cardinals rallied from a 3-2 deficit to win the Cascades Conference matchup. Spencer Berkeypile finished with three goals and Kaden Leighton added two scores for MCHS. Hunter Clemons finished with seven saves in goal for Michigan Center.  

Clinton 2, Northwest 1: The Redwolves earned a non-conference win at Northwest Wednesday. 

Girls Golf

Cascades Conference Jamboree: Columbia Central High School won another jamboree with a win at Lake LeAnn Golf Course with 171. East Jackson and Michigan Center tied for second (216), Napoleon placed fourth (243), Grass Lake finished fifth (249), and Hanover-Horton was sixth (281). Logan Bentley led all golfers with a 37, Rylie Raehtz of Grass Lake and Kylie McKee of Michigan Center tied for second with a 41, and Anna McCubbins of Napoleon, Marrisa Berro of CCHS, and Kelsey Fausz of Columbia Central tied for fourth with 42s. 

Concord at Clinton Jamboree: Concord’s Grace Thorrez finished second individually with a 47 and Hannah Stimer was sixth scoring a 51. 

Boys Tennis

Northwest 8, Jackson 0: The Mounties improved to 8-0 on the season with a non-conference win against Jackson. Drew Maples, Alex Thrun, Gavin Rush, and Mason Beecher won singles matches at Nos. 1-4 respectively.

Women’s Soccer

Spring Arbor 4, Concordia 0: Lauren Marshall scored one goal and added two assists for Spring Arbor University. Also scoring were Kaylee Beekel, Shelby Marshall, and Annika Arsenault. Reagan Kohler improved to 2-0 in goal earning the shutout for SAU.  

Women’s Volleyball

Spring Arbor 3, Lourdes 2: The Cougars erased a 2-0 deficit winning game five 15-6. Kendall Bollenbach and Mikenna Kwiatkowski combined for 24 kills in the match and Hayden Fortress dished 20 assists for Spring Arbor.
