Concord 74, Homer 41: Mekhi Wingfield scored 26 points and Jett Smith added 19 to power the Yellowjackets to a big opening night victory over Homer.
East Jackson 65, Whitmore Lake 45: Michael Allen scored 18 points and Deangelo Alexander added 16 points to lead the Trojans.

Michigan Center 47, Charyl Prep 31: Hadyn Hinkle scored 11 points and Trey Collins and Hunter Clemons each scored 10 points for Michigan Center in the non-conference road win. Hinkle finished with six steals and Jayden Watson added 11 rebounds for the Cardinals (1-1).

Western 53, Napoleon 47: The Panthers earned a non-conference win on the road Friday. Both teams are now 1-1 on the season.
Northwest 55, Pinckney 43: The Mounties improved to 1-1 on the season with a non-conference home win Friday against Pinckney. Duncan Moffitt scored 20 points and Drew Maples, Jalen Jordan, and Josh Jordan each scored nine points for the Mounties. Maples also added 12 rebounds for NWHS.
Jackson Christian 53, Camden-Frontier 19: The Royals put the clamps on CF at home on opening night. Aaden Breton scored 14 points, Christian Guerrero added 12 points, and Isaac Lanham finished with 11 points for the Royals.
Springport 45, Vandercook Lake 39: Jonathon Morgan led the Jayhawks with 16 points in the loss. Vandercook Lake is now 1-1 on the season. Springport improved to 1-1 with the victory.
Stockbridge 54, Olivet 44: Olivet jumped out to a 12-0 lead before the Panthers could mount any offense. Kegan Collins scored 19 points for Stockbridge.
Dansville 49, Leslie 35: Dansville outscored the Blackhawks 21-3 in the second quarter. Conner Marciniak scored eight points for Leslie (1-1).

Manchester 27, East Jackson 3: Kaden Mortzfield rolled a 181 game for the Trojans in the match.
Napoleon 26, Michigan Center 4: Ethan Rose rolled a 402 series to lead Napoleon to victory. The Pirates continued to roll excellent Baker games with a 180 and 220 in the contest. Gavin Coleman rolled a 326 series for the Cardinals.

Girls Bowling
East Jackson 25.5, Manchester 4.5: Dominic Hemry rolled a 246 series to lead East Jackson.
Michigan Center 27, Napoleon 3: Kylee McKee rolled a 339 series to lead the Cardinals. Sydney Gallagher finished with a high series with 431.
Grass Lake 28, Hanover-Horton 2: Freshman Marielle Schafran rolled a 326 series and Delaney O’Dale added a 322 for the Warriors.

Gladwin 4, Jackson United 2: Hayden Haynes and Wyatt Boteler scored goals for Jackson United (1-4).

Bowling
Crossroads League Tournament No. 1: Spring Arbor finished first in the women’s portion of the tournament with 6,535 pins and the men were second scoring 6,667. Noelle Riley of SAU finished second in the women’s event averaging nearly 200 per individual game.
Awards

Collin Thompson of Concord High School earned all-state honors as a lineman in 8-Man Football for the second consecutive season as voted on by members of the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association. Thompson finished with 95 tackles, two tackles for losses, one sack, intercepted one pass and recovered three fumbles. The versatile player returned two of those fumbles for touchdowns. Thompson also averaged more than nine yards per carry as a running back and caught four passes on offense.
