Boys basketball
Grass Lake 53, Columbia Central 44: The Golden Eagles pulled within four points with less than four minutes remaining in the game, but Grass Lake made a number of free throws down the stretch for the win. Four players scored in double figures for Grass Lake as Kahner Tripp, Jacob Colesa, and Bryant Cook scored 12 points apiece and Brayden Lape added 10 points and five assists. CCHS was led by Jordan Pewsey and Derek Sanders as each scored a dozen points.
Northwest 69, Homer 47: Duncan Moffitt scored 20 points and Colton Gowday added 13 points and five assists for Northwest (4-1). Josh Jordan scored 10 points, JR Morrow added eight points, and Briston Armstrong scored seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Springport 37, Waldron 30: The Spartans earned its first win of the season with the road win at Waldron.
Tecumseh 61, Western 52: Tecumseh outscored the Panthers 22-13 to break open a tie game going into the fourth quarter. Maverick Hammond finished with 17 points to lead Western.
Holt 67, Jackson 60: Savonn Campbell scored 17 points and Terrell White added 13 points for the Vikings.
Jackson Christian 44, Battle Creek Academy 15: The Royals are on a modest two-game winning streak with the victory.
Litchfield 53, JPEC 46: Jackson Prep is 2-2 on the season following the loss.
Girls basketball
Northwest 50, Columbia Central 35: Mara Mitchell scored 18 points and Ashley Weller added 14 points for the Mounties. Columbia Central was led by Zoie Bamm with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Jackson 46, Lumen Christi 43: Keira Johnson scored 14 points, Kennedy Lee added 11 points, and D’Arie Pierce finished with 10 points for Jackson.
Springport 50, Leslie 32: Springport High School earned the Leslie Holiday Tournament with the win. Maddux Overweg scored 13 points and Hope Overweg, and Brenna Crittenden added 10 points apiece in the win. The Spartans are 5-1 and are riding a five-game winning streak.
Jackson Christian 52, Battle Creek Academy 16: Maggie Hollowood scored 24 points and Julaina McCombs added 10 points for Jackson Christian.
Tecumseh 45, Western 35: The Panthers are 2-4 following the road loss at Tecumseh. Cami Boldt scored eight points and Maddy Wolf finished with six steals for the Panthers.
Boys Bowling
Jonesville 28.5, East Jackson 1.5: Jordan Tripp finished with a 194 game and Gauge Parshall finished with a 163 to lead the Trojans.
Napoleon 16, Quincy 14: The Pirates pulled out a win in a battle of 5-0 teams. Napoleon lost the two Baker games but turned it on in the individual games. Dustin Moeckel rolled a 424 series and Reichen Clark finished with a 395 series for Napoleon.
Girls Bowling
Jonesville 17, East Jackson 13: Katie Deault scored a 177 game and Tessa Wyngaert tallied a 164 for East Jackson.
Quincy 19, Napoleon 11: The Pirates lost on the road in bowling action. Natasha Eastridge bowled a 278 series and Calli Borreson and Sydney Gallagher rolled 263 series for Napoleon.
Swimming
Jackson 130, Eaton Rapids 51: Logan McKinney won the 200-yard IM (2:18.25), Blake Hetherington won the 50-yard freestyle (22.95), Ty Northrup won the diving (179.55), Will Snyder took first place in the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.25), Steven DeVaughn won the 500-yard freestyle (5:21), Logan Hetherington took first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.07), and Logan Koszegi won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.51) for the Vikings. Jackson also won three of the relays against Eaton Rapids at home on Tuesday.
