Tecumseh 51, Concord 49: Concord lost in a non-conference game at home on Saturday night. The Yellow Jackets are 13-5 on the season.  

Girls basketball

Concord 46, Britton-Deerfield 43: The Yellow Jackets earned a non-conference win at home on Saturday. Concord finishes the regular season with a 7-11 record. 

Boys Bowling

MHSAA regional bowling tournaments

Feb. 26 (individuals)

Division 1 at Canton: Kenyon Buckner of Jackson finished 41st overall at the MHSAA regional individual tournament at Superbowl in Canton. He finished the six-game qualifying with a score of 1,137. The top 10 individual bowlers advance to the state meet. 

Division 2 at Vicksburg: Northwest High School dominated the singles’ tournament with three individual qualifiers at the MHSAA regional at Vicksburg. Ryan Wenman won the regional title for NWHS with a six-game score of 1,211. Teammates Damien Milliman was second (1,207) and Logan Jahr finished eighth (1,166). The trio will compete in the MHSAA state finals next Saturday at Super Bowl in Canton, Mich. Tobyn LePeak of Western finished 37th overall at the individual regional with a score of 1,019.

Division 3 at Niles: Dustin Moeckel of Napoleon earned a ticket to the state bowling finals by finishing ninth at the Division 3 individual tournament at Niles. Moeckel finished with 1,127 for six game. Jake Luna of Columbia Central tied with Logan Schneider of Napoleon for 19th place scoring 1,056. Dominick Courtney of Michigan Center finished 28th for Michigan Center scoring 994.

Division 4 at JAX 60 hosted by Hanover-Horton: Local teams dominated the top 10 state qualifying spots at the MHSAA Division 4 singles regional at JAX 60 Recreation Center. Bowlers finished the regional with six individual games for a total. Ben Childs of Hanover-Horton was the regional champion with a score of 1,207; Damien Rodriguez of Vandercook Lake was fourth scoring 1,138; Clayton Weir of Grass Lake finished fifth with 1,136; teammate Ashton Molnar tied with East Jackson bowler Steven Tripp for sixth place with 1,123; Jackson Kremer of Lumen Christi was eighth bowling 1,121; and Ben Harris of Grass Lake garnered the final qualifying spot with a 10th place finish scoring 1,108. The individual qualifiers advance to the Division 4 state finals Saturday at M-66 Bowl.

MHSAA regional bowling tournaments

Feb. 26 (individuals)

Division 1 at Canton: Lauren Webb of Jackson finished fourth overall at the MHSAA regional tournament at Superbowl in Canton. She qualifies for the state finals after rolling a six-game qualifying score of 1,075. She will compete at the MHSAA state individual finals next Saturday at Thunder Bowl in Allen Park. 

Division 2 at Vicksburg: Lacey Wenman of Northwest High School finished 18th overall at the individual regional at Vicksburg. Wenman finished the six-game qualifying with a score of 951. Gabrielle Semenchuk of Western High School was 51st scoring 723. 

Division 3 at Niles:Alexa Brzyski of Napoleon High School finished tied for fifth at the individual tournament at Niles. She finished with a six-game total of 1,077 and will bowl in the MHSAA finals next Saturday at JAX 60 in Jackson. Kaelin Pond was 14th (979) and Shanna Dettloff of Columbia Central finished 17th (953).

Division 4 at JAX 60 hosted by Hanover-Horton: Four Jackson County bowlers earned state qualifying spots at the MHSAA Division 4 regional tournament at JAX 60 on Saturday. Taylor Mosher of Grass Lake was second overall with 1,039; Savannah Donnersbach of Lumen Christi placed third scoring 1,029; Brianna Langley of Vandercook Lake finished ninth with a score of 963, and Alyssa Schultz of Grass Lake was 10th scoring 958. The Division 4 state individual finals will be held at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek on Saturday. 

Competitive cheer

Division 4 Regional at Michigan Center: Hanover-Horton High School finished eighth at the MHSAA Division 4 regional at Michigan Center High School. The Comets finished with a three-round score of 686. Hudson, Madison, Montrose and Addison qualified for the MHSAA state finals next Friday 4 at 2 p.m. 

Hockey

Brighton 8, Jackson United 2: Jackson United ends the season with a 12-13 record following a loss in the Division 3 regional semifinal. 

East Grand Rapids 4, Lumen Christi 1: The Titans finish the season with a 17-7 record following a loss in the Division 3 regional semifinal at home on Saturday afternoon. Isaac Rehberg scored the only goal for Lumen Christi in the first period for a 1-0 lead. Jake King and Gabe King earned assists on the play. Matt Hoop finished with 26 saves on the night in goal for LCCHS.
