SEC final: Jackson High School finished third in the Southeastern Conference final over the weekend at home. Jackson finished with 487 points finishing behind Pinckney (552) and Chelsea (522). Dylan Marshallsay of Jackson won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.41 seconds. Jackson also won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:30.52 with a team of Marshallsay, Blake Hetherington, Steven DeVaughn, and Mason Rose. Rose finished second in the 50-yard freestyle (22.91) and second in the 100-yard butterfly (57.29), Hetherington placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (49.66), DeVaughn was second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:06), Marshallsay was second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02), and Jackson took second place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:31 with Hetherington, DeVaughn, Will Snyder, and Logan McKinney.

Jackson native Brian Stuard finished tied for ninth place at the Honda Classic near Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., on the PGA Tour this weekend. He finished with rounds of 70, 70, 69, and 69 – 2 under par. Stuard earned $194,000 for his efforts, but more importantly moved up on the FedEx Cup points series from No. 177 to No. 133. The top 125 at the end of the 2021-2022 season earn playing privileges for the 2022-2023 PGA season. The finish is the best of the 2021-2022 season for Stuard and the first top 10 of the season.
