Boys Basketball

Columbia Central 71, Homer 38: Jack Gorton finished with 18 points and Derek Sanders and Conner Cole added 10 points apiece for CCHS. 

East Jackson 66, Leslie 52: Conner Stephens scored 19 points and Michael Allen added 14 points for EJHS. Jayden Colby scored 15 points and Connor Marciniak finished with 12 points for Leslie. 

Michigan Center 59, Manchester 44: Jayden Watson scored 14 points and added seven rebounds for Michigan Center. Haydyn Hinkle scored seven points and hauled in eight rebounds for the Cardinals.

Girls Basketball

Concord 92, Maple Valley 9: The Yellowjackets had little trouble with Maple Valley at home Thursday. Bradie Lehman scored 24 points, Cece Barrett finished with 21 points, Grace Thorrez added 13 points, and Hannah Stimer tallied 10 points for Concord (10-3 overall, 6-1 Big Eight). 

Springport 44, Reading 41: After a slow start the Spartans turned it up a notch earning a Big Eight Conference win on the road. Springport outscored Reading 15-5 in the third quarter. Maddux Locke scored 21 points, dished five assists, and created five steals. Hope Overweg finished with seven points and 11 rebounds and Rylee Siefert scored six points and pulled down nine rebounds for Springport.

Saline 22, Jackson 8 

Northwest 22, Hastings 8: Jake Brafford bowled a 385 series and Bryce Thomas finished with a 379 for Northwest. 

Coldwater 18, Western 12: Austin Ball scored a 440 series and Buster Marr and John Prater each rolled 182 games for Western. 

Michigan Center 29, Addison 1

Napoleon 28, Hanover-Horton 1: Reichen Clark finished with a 277 game and Peyton Thorne added a 206 game for the Pirates. Joe Davis finished with a 331 series to lead the Comets.

Girls Bowling

Saline 16, Jackson 14 

Northwest 27, Hastings 3: Jayla Pruitt finished with a 341 series with a 202 game. Serissa Myers bowled a 177 game and Casey Jahr shot a 319 series for the Mounties. 

Coldwater 29, Western 1: Mya Caraballo finished with a 284 series for Western. 

Michigan Center 30, Addison 0

Hanover-Horton 28, Napoleon 2: Sydney Gallagher finished with a 417 series for Napoleon. Sophia Donders finished with a season-best 353 series for the Comets. The win gives HHHS a 7-7 record in the conference.

Swimming

Jackson 119, Chelsea 67: Logan McKinney and Blake Hetherington both won four events – two individual and two relays – for Jackson in the home victory. Hetherington was one of four seniors honored at the home meet. 

Gymnastics

Western 125.575, Tecumseh 124.825: The Panthers earned a home win Thursday night against Tecumseh. Hannah Whiting won the vault (8.6), the bars (7.9), and was third in the all-around (31.825). Taylor Paquin finished third in the vault (8.5), bars (7.2), and the floor (8.05). Madi Rentfrow of Columbia Central, completing for Tecumseh, tied for first on the vault with a score of 8.6.
