Boys basketball

Napoleon 46, Hanover-Horton 40: The Pirates trailed 25-13 at halftime but outscored the Comets by nearly 20 points in the second half. Holden Van Poppel scored 15 points, Grant Bradley scored 14 points, and Trent Jester added 11 points for the Pirates. Lucas Soper scored 20 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for the Comets. Napoleon earned a Cascades Conference title with the victory and remain undefeated. The game was moved to Grass Lake for a 4 p.m. because of no power at NHS.  

Grass Lake 74, Manchester 36: Three players scored in double figures for the Warriors as Brayden Lape scored 17 points, Kahner Tripp added 15 points, and Camyne Beltran finished with 13 points. 

Michigan Center 68, East Jackson 47: Four players were in double digits for Michigan Center led by Adrien Putnam with 26 points.

Pennfield 55, Northwest 53

Girls basketball

Coldwater 40, Lumen Christi 21: Coldwater High School earned a share of the Interstate Eight Conference title with the home win. 

Northwest 65, Pennfield 38: Northwest High School earned a share of the Interstate Eight Conference title with the win. Ashley Weller scored a team-high 24 points, Mara Mitchell added 19 points, and senior Laney Sleight finished with 12 points for Northwest (20-2). 

Western 64, Harper Creek 25:  Rayah Hitt led the Panthers with a double double, 13 points and 10 rebounds, and five assists and four steals.  Bayli Stewart also scored 10 points for Western. 

Boys Bowling Regionals (team event)

Division 2 at Continental Lanes: Northwest High School finished fourth (3,204) and Western placed fifth (3,105) at the Division 2 boys team bowling regional in Kalamazoo. The top three teams advance to the state team finals. Jackson finished 12th with 2,620 for eight Baker games and two individual games. Tecumseh won the regional with a team score of 3,679. 

Division 3, at M-66 Lanes, Battle Creek:  That regional was moved up a day due to no power at the bowling alley. Teams are scheduled to compete in team events on Saturday and individuals on Sunday. 

Division 4, at JAX 60: Grass Lake High School won the regional title and Lumen Christi finished third to qualify for the state team event next weekend. The Warriors finished with a team total of 3,252 for eight Baker games and two individual games at JAX 60 in Jackson. Lumen Christi finished with a team total of 3,152 to grab the final qualifying spot.  Hanover-Horton was seventh 2,764, East Jackson placed 10th (2,499), and Vandercook Lake finished 14th (2,132). 

Girls Bowling Regionals (teams)

Division 2 at Continental Lanes: Northwest High School finished eighth (2,434), Western was 11th (2,363), and Jackson placed 12th (2,356) at the Kalamazoo regional. 

Division 3, at M-66 Lanes, Battle Creek: That regional was moved up a day due to no power at the bowling alley. Teams are scheduled to compete in team events on Saturday and individuals on Sunday. 

Division 4, at JAX 60: Hanover-Horton High School finished second to qualify for the state team event. The Comets finished with a team total of 2,624 for eight Baker games and two individual games at JAX 60 on Friday. Lumen Christi finished fourth (2,515), Grass Lake placed seventh (2,361), East Jackson was ninth (2,290), and Vandercook Lake was 11th (2,251).

Division 4, at JAX 60, Jackson, 9 a.m. 

Addison, Bronson, Burr Oak, Comstock, East Jackson, Grass Lake, Hanover-Horton, Homer, Hudson, Jonesville, Kalamazoo Christian, Kalamazoo Hackett, Lumen Christi, Pittsford, Schoolcraft, and Vandercook Lake. 

For individual bowling regionals, the top 10 bowlers qualify for the state meet next Saturday. In the team competition, the top three teams qualify for the MHSAA finals next Friday. The Division 3 regional tournament was delayed in Battle Creek due to a power outage. The team competition is Saturday and the individual is Sunday.
