Boys basketball

East Jackson 68, Hanover-Horton 51: Amarr Hunter had a big night for the Trojans with 22 points and seven rebounds. Luke Soper of Hanover-Horton led all scorers with 29 points.

Michigan Center 69, Grass Lake 51: The Cardinals broke open a close game by outscoring the Warriors 21-8 in the final quarter. Hunter Clemons scored 24 points and five rebounds for MCHS. Adrien Putnam scored 14 points and Brody Shannon added 11 points for the Cardinals.  Brayden Lape scored 11 points and  Kahner Tripp added 10 points to lead Grass Lake. 

Climax-Scotts 49, Jackson Christian 35: Tate Jacobs finished with 15 points to lead Jackson Christian. 

Napoleon 58, Addison 37: Trent Jester scored 15 points and Grant Davis and Grant Bradley tallied 11 points apiece to pace the Pirates.

Competitive cheer

Interstate-8 Final at Western: Lumen Christi Catholic High School finished second to Hastings scoring 633 in the three-round competition. Western was third (616) and Northwest placed fourth (599) at Western High School on Wednesday. 

Boys bowling

Michigan Center 20, East Jackson 10: Jordan Tripp bowled a 198 game for the Trojans. 

Napoleon 25, Grass Lake 5: The Pirates defeated Grass Lake in a battle of two of the top teams in the Cascades Conference at Suburban Lanes on Wednesday.  Dustin Moeckel continued his hot play with a 518 series and Logan Schneider bowled a 442 to lead Napoleon. Cayden Dewitt rolled a 440 series, Brice Sandoval finished with a 438 series, and Max Schafran bowled a 402 series for the Warriors.

Girls bowling

Michigan Center 25, East Jackson 5: Bree Baxter led East Jackson with a 190 game in the Cascades Conference match. 

Napoleon 29, Grass Lake 1: Sam Burgess rolled a 400 series for Napoleon including a 205 game. Natalie Farmer bowled a 320 series to lead the Warriors.

Gymnastics

Jackson Area Gymnastics 140.775, Adrian 117.175: Alyssa Budd had a solid senior night setting a new school record on the floor exercise (9.75) and winning the beam (8.825), and the vault (8.725). Fellow senior Jenna Bradley won the bars with a new personal best of 8.875 for JAG. The team celebrated senior night for Budd (from Napoleon), Bradley (Lumen Christi), Alaina Brown (Grass Lake), Kadence Hinkley (Lumen Christi), and Megan Jones (Jackson High School). 

Hockey

Jackson United 4,  Lenawee United 1: Jackson scored three times in the first period on goals by Brennan Forward, Wyatt Boteler, and Carson Lacinski.  Nick Baumgardner scored an insurance goal in the third period for JU. Nick Nau earned the win in goal for Jackson United.
