Lumen Christi 27, New Lothrop 14: Lumen Christi Catholic High School defeated the defending state champions at home on Thursday. A blocked field goal attempt return, and a touchdown pass late in the second quarter to Ralph Golden gave the Titans a lead at halftime.  Derrick Walker and Teddy Ahlers scored touchdowns for the Titans. 

Napoleon 27, Columbia Central 14: Napoleon High School won back the Little Brown Jug for the first time since 2014. Bart Laretz scored two touchdowns and rushed for 89 yards. He also recorded seven tackles and one sack. “Our offensive line gave us a dominating performance tonight,” NHS Coach Derek Shell said. Napoleon quarterback Grant Bradley threw for 180 yards on 9-of-13 passing. Braden Ellison rushed for 115 yards and scored one touchdown for CCHS. Defensively Ty Farmer recorded 19 tackles for the Golden Eagles.    

Hanover-Horton 49, Morenci 6: The Comets dominated the line of scrimmage running for 258 yards on the ground. Gavin Gumper finished with 144 rushing yards and three touchdowns for HHHS in the win. Aiden Wier finished with two touchdowns and Wyatt Hill added another touchdown run for the Comets. Gabe French led the defensive effort for the Comets with 11 tackles including two for losses. 

Jackson 22, Haslett 14: Jackson High School erased a 14-8 halftime deficit in the non-conference win. Ke’Andre Brown ran for one touchdown – 35 yards – and threw for another in the win. Gibson Drummond threw a 47-yard touchdown in the first quarter for the Vikings. Tavion Tanner finished with five tackles and Olando Trader caught two touchdown passes and made four stops on defense for the Vikings. Cortez Stamper recovered a fumble for the Vikings.  

Western 20, St. Johns 12: Nolan Wheeler finished with 144 passing yards and ran for another score for Western in the win. Cole Wilcox caught a touchdown pass and finished with 127 receiving yards for Western. Mitch Williams led the defensive attack with 10 tackles for the Panthers. 

Addison 61, Springport 16: The Panthers rushed for 362 yards in a win over the Spartans at Olivet College on Thursday. Nicholas Trumble scored on a pair of touchdown runs (3 and 20 yards) and returned an interception for a score. Keelin Mullin ran for 109 yards and scored twice for Addison. Springport was led by Dylan Sanford who ran for 61 yards and Matt Riehle who threw for 105 yards and one touchdown. 

Mendon 54, Vandercook Lake 26: Vandercook Lake scored 20 points in the first half but couldn’t keep up with Mendon in the second. The Jayhawks opened the game with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Cheney to Avery Pierce. 

Boys tennis

Columbia Central 5, Tecumseh 3: Columbia Central earned its first win of the season. Dimitri Panergo and Andrew Hosmer won singles matches at Nos. 2 and 3 respectively for the Golden Eagles 

Chelsea 7, Northwest 1:  Landon Schroeder and Karson Schroeder won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles for the Mounties on Wednesday.
