Baseball

Concord 6, Hillsdale 3: Isaac O’Dell recorded two hits for the Yellow Jackets in the win. Isaac Waldron earned the pitching win, going all seven innings for Concord. 

Hillsdale 16, Concord 4: The Hornets exploded for 12 runs in the first three innings to earn a split with Concord (8-10). 

Girls’ soccer

Jackson 2, Adrian 0: The Vikings improved to 3-4 with the win, ending a five-game losing streak. Maddie Wagner and Sydney Langley each scored a goal for the Vikings. 

Northwest 6, Hastings 1: The Mounties are now 3-4 with the win and a modest two-game winning streak. 

Western 1, Marshall 1: The two Interstate-8 Conference schools were locked in a defensive battle on Thursday night. The Panthers are 5-2-1 on the season. 

PGA Tour

Napoleon High School graduate Brian Stuard shot an even-par 71 on Thursday at the Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour. Stuard birdied the first two holes of the tournament, but two bogeys on the final four holes brought him back to even par. He is currently in 66th place in the tournament with a second round to be held Friday to determine the cut. The top 65 players advance to play on Saturday and Sunday at Palm Harbor, Fla.
