Grass Lake at Jackson tri-meet: Grass Lake High School went 2-0 on the night with wins over Hastings and Jackson. Leah Allen had six aces, Catherine Cottle recorded 29 assists, Abby Buttigieg finished with 33 digs, and Ruby Johnson notched with 11 kills for Grass Lake. Jackson lost to Hastings 2-0 in a non-conference match.

Jackson Christian at Waldron: Jackson Christian High School won a five-set thriller 19-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-13, 15-12. Madi Conrad tallied nine kills and six aces and Liv Conrad had eight kills.
Hanover-Horton tri-meet: Hanover-Horton def. Northwest 2-1 and Homer 2-0 at home on Tuesday. The Comets defeated Northwest 17-25, 25-21, and 15-9. Lilly Wooster finished with 12 kills, Alana VanEpps had 20 assists, and Ellarie Barber tallied 21 digs. The Comets also defeated Homer 27-25 and 27-25.
Cross country
Western at Marshall: Jacob Singleton and Alyna Lewis of Western High School won races at the Barney Roy Invitational at Marshall. Singleton ran the 5K event in 16:21. Western finished sixth and Springport seventh in the boys’ event. Dylan Sanford of Springport finished 21st in 19:44. Lewis won the girls’ event in 19:43 for Western. The Panthers finished second to Marshall as Justice Prins finished 11th in 22:39 for Western.
Girls golf
Cascades jamboree at Addison: Michigan Center High School won its second consecutive jamboree with a four-man total of 190 at Lake LeAnn Golf Course. Napoleon was second (218), Grass Lake was third (220), East Jackson was one stroke behind the Warriors, Hanover-Horton shot 227, and Addison was sixth with 278. Kamryn Shannon earned the medalist honors with a 43 for Michigan Center. Teammates Riley Brown were second (46) and Kylie McKee fourth (48). East Jackson golfer Addisyn Rudd finished third with 47.

Grass Lake Invitational: Hanover-Horton High School golfer Holly Miller scored a hole in one at Hills’ Heart O’ the Lakes Golf Course on Monday. She aced the third hole, a 136-yard par 3.


Boys tennis

Northwest 8, Jackson 0: Mason Schroeder, Austin McCarron, Brogan Buchler, Elijah Haledane won Nos. 1-4 singles’ matches respectively for Northwest. Landon Schroeder/Karson Schroeder, Alex Thrun/Drew Maples, Lincoln Keathley/Garrett Waldron, and Gavin Rush/Kaleb Kittinger-Munro earned doubles wins for the Mounties.

Western 6, Kalamazoo Hackett 2: Jaxon Porter and Noah McCollum of Western won matches on Monday at Nos. 3 and 4 singles respectively. The Panthers swept all four doubles matches.
