Baseball

Adrian 8, Jackson 3:  Bryan Barclay struck out five batters for the Vikings. 

Hanover-Horton 3, Napoleon 1: Grant Bradley of Napoleon and Garrett Gumper battled in a pitcher’s duel. Gumper struck out eight batters in the win and Bradley struck out 14 for the Pirates. 

Napoleon 18, Hanover-Horton 6: The Pirates scored six runs in the first and fourth innings in the win. Gage DeLand knocked in five runs for Napoleon (9-8). 

Michigan Center 4, Grass Lake 1: Barrett Roe earned the pitching win for the Cardinals with a complete game. 

Grass Lake 6, Michigan Center 5:  Both teams scored four runs in the third inning. Daylen Hinkle had three runs and knocked in two runs for MCHS. 

Addison 9, Vandercook Lake 1: Kenny Jarchow of Addison limited the Jayhawks to two hits.  

Addison 10, Vandercook Lake 6: Kyle Hamlin had two hits for the Jayhawks.

Softball

Napoleon 15, Hanover-Horton 6: Marissa Davis recorded four hits and knocked in five runs for Napoleon in the win. 

Napoleon 15, Hanover-Horton 7: Alyssa Budd and Bailey Vickery each knocked in four runs for the Pirates. 

Grass Lake 11, Michigan Center 1: Olivia Turner knocked in four runs and Laney Brown struck out seven batters for Grass Lake. 

Grass Lake 13, Michigan Center 4: Anna Konopka, Rylee Fitzpatrick, and Kate Postuma each knocked in three runs for the Warriors. 

Saline 20, Jackson 0: Kulayjah Weller had one hit for the Vikings. 

Boys’ track and field

Columbia Central, Clinton at Onsted: Clinton High School won the boys event with 67 points, Onsted scored 47, and Columbia Central tallied 25. Lucas Boudreau won the 100-meter dash (12.2), and Jacob Walker won the 800-meter run (2:15) and the 1,600-meter run (4:54) for the Golden Eagles. 

Concord tri-meet: Concord (89) defeated Homer (29) and Bronson (17) at a home tri-meet. Javion Taylor won the 100-meter dash (11.77) and the 200-meter (23.79), and Christian Kirkland won the shot put (39-8.5) and the discus (134-4) for Concord. The Yellow Jackets swept all four relays. 

Girls’ track and field

Columbia Central, Clinton at Onsted: Onsted easily won the event with 87 points, Clinton scored 38, and CCHS tallied four. Hope Wilkes was second in the 1,600-meter run (5:54) for Columbia Central. 

Concord tri-meet: Homer (54 points) won the tri-meet and Concord and Bronson tied with 36 points. Natalie Sharp won both hurdle events for Concord (21.48 in the 100-meter hurdles and 1:03 in the 300-meter hurdles).  

Girls’ soccer

Manchester 8, Jackson Christian 0: Manchester High School is now 11-0 on the season, with six wins by an 8-0 score. 

Lumen Christi 3, Coldwater 0: The Titans have now won three of its last four matches. 

Clinton 8, Michigan Center 0: High-scoring Clinton High School soccer player Maddie Freitas scored four goals and now has 49 goals for the season.     

       

Northwest 5, Pennfield 2: The Mounties have won four of its last five matches. 

Boys’ golf

I-8 at Northwest:  Northwest High School (170) edged Marshall by one stroke at the home jamboree at Hankerd Hills Golf Course. Lumen Christi finished third (175) and Western was seventh (188). Devin Kalis shot a 38 to lead the Mounties, Owen Campbell finished with a 41 for the Titans, and Logan Baum carded a 41 to lead the Panthers. 

                             

Jackson at Pinckney quad meet: Jackson High School tied for second with Tecumseh with 180 strokes. Pinckney won the event with 177. Justin Bunch shot a 38 for Jackson. 

Girls’ tennis

Hillsdale 6, Northwest 2: Savannah Anderson won at No. 1 singles for the Mounties (1-7-2). Mackenzie Rowley/Ashleigh Black also won at No. 1 doubles for Northwest. 

Lumen Christi 7, Jackson 1: Michaela Hauer, Claire Papoulias, and Olivia Eaker won singles matches at Nos. 2-4 respectively for the Titans (10-3). Harshita Rathod earned the only point for Jackson (6-2-3). 

Western 8, Coldwater 0: The Panthers (9-2-2) lost only 12 games in the win. Belle Sexton/Maria Macchia won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles; Alison Delor/Bella Brushabar won by the same scores at No. 2 doubles; Kenzie Hiler/Faith Holton won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 doubles; and Teagan Robertson/Alena Engle won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 doubles for Western.
