Napoleon Invitational: Columbia Central High School won the Napoleon Invitational on Saturday. The Golden Eagles defeated the host school in the finals. Napoleon defeated Michigan Center and Camden Frontier on the way to the finals. Columbia Central defeated Hillsdale and Lenawee Christian to advance to the finals. They beat Napoleon 25-17 and 25-10 in a battle of M-50.
Cross Country
Bath Invitational: The Hanover-Horton High School boys’ team finished third and the girls’ sixth in the Division 3 category at Bath. Rogan Melling of Hanover-Horton won the boys’ race in 16 minutes, 48 seconds. Teammate Evan Shepherd finished 16th (18:58) and Austin Brown placed 20th (19:14). Alexis Flint finished 20th in the girls’ event with a time of 23:06.
Lakeview Invitational: Lumen Christi Catholic High School finished fourth in the girls’ 5K event and Western placed ninth. Madison Osterberg of Lumen Christi won the race with a time of 19 minutes, 11 seconds. Teammate Lily Beebe finished seventh 20:11 and Alyna Lewis of Western placed fourth overall in 19:40. The Titans were seventh in the boys’ race and Western finished 14th. Jacob Singleton of Western placed fifth with a time of 16:27 and Matt Hoop of Lumen Christi finished 28th in 17:53.
Homer Invitational: Nathan Paddock finished 21st in 20:24 and Tim Reimers finished two spots behind him in 20:27 for Michigan Center. Kate Paterson of MCHS was 22nd in 25:54 in the girls’ 5K event.
Boys Soccer
Grass Lake 9, Durand 0: Grass Lake is now 6-2-1 overall for the season.

Northwest 4, Columbia Central 0: Nate Wyers scored the first goal of the game for a 1-0 halftime lead for the Mounties. Landon Rambadt scored two goals in the second half and Jason King added the final goal. Kaleb Murton had six saves in goal for the contest for Northwest. Connor St. John, Ryan Wenman, Andrew Staudinger, and Marcus Arbrouet provided additional protection for the Mounties. Columbia Central is now 1-5 while the Mounties improved to 2-3 with the win.
