Clinton 49, Columbia Central 6:  The Golden Eagles trailed 35-0 at halftime. Columbia Central is now 0-5 on the season. Luke McDorman threw a touchdown to Cody Richardson for the Golden Eagles’ only score. Ty Farmer finished with 11 tackles and a fumble recovery for CCHS. 

Michigan Center 49, Grass Lake 14: The Cardinals rebound from a 1-point loss at Addison last week with a rivalry win. Michigan Center is 4-1 on the season while Grass Lake falls to 1-4.  

Napoleon 41, Hanover-Horton 29: Napoleon High School improved to 3-0 in the Cascades Conference with the win. The Comets are 1-3 in the conference, 2-3 overall. Brendan Helfrich ran for 130 yards and one touchdown and Nick Marienfeld scored three times and ran for 121 yards for Napoleon. Trent Jester had a pick-6 for the Pirates to secure the game. Holden VanPoppel also intercepted a pair of passes for Napoleon. Aden Weir finished with four touchdowns on the ground for the Comets. Gavin Gumper threw for 151 yards for HHHS. 

Addison 1, East Jackson 0: Forfeit win for Addison High School.  

Vandercook 72, Concord 64: Vandercook Lake scored on its first two plays of the game – with one being called back for a hold. The rest of the night was an offensive show for both teams. The Jayhawks earned its first win of the year while Concord fell to 2-3. Tyler Carpenter had nearly 400 yards of offense for the Yellow Jackets with 152 rushing yards and 247 passing. Mekhi Wingfield was his favorite target with 13 catches for 145 yards and four touchdowns. Andrew Cheney threw for nearly 200 yards and five touchdowns for the Jayhawks.  

Pinckney 50, Jackson 20: Jackson High School trailed 16-14 at halftime but the Vikings gave up 34 points in the third quarter. Julio Pizano ran for 82 yards, caught 63 yards in passes, and scored a pair of touchdowns for the Vikings. Dectrick Reed also scored on a 29-yard touchdown run for Jackson.  

Lumen Christi 33, Hastings 22: The Titans took a big step in winning another Interstate-8 Conference championship with a win on the road at Hastings. Cole Simpson scored three touchdowns on runs of 2, 2, and 3 yards. Collin Morrow and Teddy Ahlers also scored for the Titans. Ahlers led the Titans with 75 yards rushing on only nine carries. Cooper Keene caught four passes for 42 yards for LCCHS. Simpson also led the defensive effort with 16 tackles and Morrow and Devian Franklin added 10 stops apiece. 

Harper Creek 60, Northwest 22: The Mounties are now 0-4 in the Interstate-8 Conference with the loss. Isaiah Grybauskas threw for one touchdown with 135 passing yards and ran for another two scores with 150 rushing yards. The Mounties gained more than 320 yards of offense in the game. 

Jonesville 62, Springport 6: Springport could not back up that big win over Napoleon with a victory over Big Eight Conference foes from Jonesville. The Spartans are now 1-4 on the season, 0-3 in the Big 8. 

Western 42, Pennfield 14: Cole Wilcox scored a pair of touchdown passes from Nolan Wheeler of 70 and 33 yards. Wheeler finished with 257 passing yards for the Panthers. Mitch Williams finished with 11 tackles including two tackles for losses in the win. 

Boys tennis

Western 6, Lumen Christi 2: Western swept the doubles competition to pull out the win. Micah Hall/Jesse Pratt won for Western at No. 1 doubles; Dylan Yetzke/Caleb Bahlau won 6-2 and 6-3 at No. 2 doubles; and Nick Hendrickson/Hudson Valentine won at No. 3 doubles. The Titans forfeited the match at No. 4 doubles. 

Approximately 300 Consumers Energy customers in the central business district of Downtown Jackson are without power tonight (including JTV). Crews have been dispatched and are investigating the cause. An estimate of restoration time is not available. JTV is off air until power returns.
