Volleyball

Jackson Christian at Climax-Scotts: Jackson Christian High School lost 3-1 on the road Monday. Julaina McCombs had three kills and seven aces and Madi Conrad and Caitlin Anderson each recorded three kills for the Royals. 

 

Blissfield at Columbia Central: Columbia Central High School earned a 3-1 win over Blissfield in Lenawee County Athletic Association volleyball play. The Golden Eagles are 4-1 in the LCAA with the win.  

Boys Cross country

Hudson Invitational: Napoleon High School finished third in the boys 5K event. Kyler Pequet of Napoleon finished sixth in the boys race with a time of 19:09 and teammate Josh Darling was eighth in 19:36 as the Pirates scored 73 points. 

Girls Cross Country

Hudson Invitational: Napoleon runners Alexa Burgess (24:03), Lauren McLain (24:07), and Natalie Kuntz (24:07) were 11th, 12th, and 13th respectively. Napoleon scored 101 in the event to also finish in third place. 

Boys soccer

Michigan Center 1, Manchester 1: Nikolas Kosmet scored on a corner kick for the Cardinals with one minute remaining in the first half. Michael Van Riper made five saves in goal for Michigan Center (4-1-1). Weather ended the game at halftime after several lightning delays. 

Grass Lake 1, Plymouth Christian 0: The game was suspended near the end of the first half due to lightning. 

Jackson 1, Northwest 0: The match was called at approximately the 20-minute mark of the first half with Jackson leading 1-0. 

Girls golf

Cascades Conference at The Grande: Michigan Center High School won the Napoleon jamboree with a four-man total of 188 at The Grande Golf Club. Grass Lake was second with 207, East Jackson was third scoring 213, Hanover-Horton shot 228, Napoleon finished with 245, and Addison 285. MCHS golfers Kamryn Shannon (40) and Ellie Trefry (45) went one-two individually at the jamboree. Rylie Raehtz and Julie Johnston led Grass Lake with 49s; Paris Khan shot 51 to lead EJHS; Holly Miller shot a 54 for the Comets; Katelyn Smilowski carded a 55 to pace the Pirates; and Shianne Hodges shot a 64. The Cardinals have won all of jamborees this season so far.
