Girls basketball
Hanover-Horton 34, Grass Lake 29: Natalee Krage scored eight points and Morgan Kuhl added six points and nine rebounds for the Comets in the low scoring affair. After scoring 13 points in the first quarter, the Comets scored zero in the second. But Hanover-Horton held Grass Lake to 13 points in the second half to earn the win. Olivia Turner and Kate Starkey scored seven points apiece for Grass Lake.
Michigan Center 47, Manchester 43: Julia Reynolds scored 18 points and snared 11 rebounds in the win for the Cardinals. Hailey Mees added 11 points for Michigan Center (2-1 in Cascades Conference).
Springport 56, Napoleon 15: The Spartans are on an eight-game winning streak after the non-conference win at home on Wednesday. Maddux Overweg scored 23 points, dished four assists, and made eight steals to lead Springport. Rylee Siefert and Brenna Crittenden each scored 11 points for the Spartans.
East Jackson 47, Addison 27
Jackson Christian 32, North Adams-Jerome 21: Maggie Hollowood scored 17 points and recorded eight steals for the Royals.
Wrestling
Columbia Central at Hillsdale: Columbia Central defeated Hillsdale 38-36 in Lenawee County Athletic Association action. Christian Millican (120), Jordan Cromwell (126), Hunter Czubachowski (138), Colton Plate (157), and Ty Farmer (175) all earned pins for the Golden Eagles. CCHS also defeated Onsted, 58-18, in the second match.
Concord Quad Meet: Concord High School lost to Homer (75-0) and Jonesville (60-12). Nate Fritz (113) and Collin Thompson (138) earned pins for the Yellow Jackets against Jonesville.
East Jackson Quad Meet: The Trojans defeated Grass Lake 54-24 but lost to Manchester 57-21. Colton Raffensburger earned a pin for East Jackson against Manchester. Jack Reid (190) and Emily Guthrie (120) earned pins for Grass Lake against East Jackson. Hanover-Horton lost to Manchester 59-19. Josh Fraley (150) and David Fielder earned wins for the Comets in contested matches against the Flying Dutchmen. Hanover-Horton defeated Grass Lake 39-18 improving to 3-1 in the Cascades Conference.
Lumen Christi at Northwest Quad: Northwest High School earned a pair of wins with victories over Harper Creek (74-9) and Lumen Christi (75-6). Cameron Beach (113), Kayden Beach (120), Gavin Beach (152), Braden Gariety (160), and Zach Jacobs (175) all recorded a pair of pins for the Mounties. Reid Garcia earned a pin against Northwest at 145 pounds. The Titans lost to Hastings in the second match of the night.
Napoleon Quad Meet: Michigan Center defeated Vandercook Lake 84-0 but lost to Addison 42-33. George Masters and Carter Mikolajczyk went 2-0 with two pins for the Cardinals. Napoleon defeated Vandercook Lake 72-6 in one dual. Trevor Nolte (138), Joey Donahee (144) and Dallas Smith (215) earned pins against the Jayhawks. Cayley Britton earned a win for VCL against the Pirates.
Springport at Reading: Springport lost to Bronson (56-18) and Reading (36-35). Saige Patterson (106) and Rylinn Hale (157) both earned two wins on the night for Springport.
Western I-8 Meet: The Panthers won a pair of matches at a home quad on Wednesday. Western defeated Coldwater (72-11) and Marshall (58-16) in Interstate-8 Conference action. Elijah Crist (126), Nolan Wahtola (144), Gabriel Hines (157), Adam Carlson (165), Alex Trudell (175), and Josh Corts (190) all earned a pair of pins on the night for Western.
Competitive Cheer
LCAA at Dundee: Columbia Central High School finished sixth with 581 at the second Lenawee County Athletic Association jamboree at Dundee.
Interstate-8 Conference Jamboree: Lumen Christi Catholic High School finished second with 629, Western was fourth at 580, and Northwest finished fifth scoring 561.
Boys Bowling
Michigan Center 29, Addison 1: Dominick Courtney rolled a 405 series for Michigan Center. Alvin Hedrick led Addison with a 203 game.
Grass Lake 26, Vandercook Lake 4: Max Schafran led the Warriors with games of 224 and 178 for a 402 set. Brayden DeWitt bowled games of 223 and 172 and Cayden DeWitt bowled a 226.
Girls Bowling
Michigan Center 22, Addison 8: Kylie McKee rolled a 341 series and Kaelin Pond finished with a 337 for the Cardinals.
Hockey
Jackson United 7, Skyline 1: Jackson United bounced back from a loss on Saturday with a 7-1 home win over Skyline on Wednesday night. Cougar Fagan and Carson Lacinski each scored two goals and Luke Bergkoetter added three assists for JU. Also scoring goals were Nick Baumgardner, Brennan Forward, and Kullen Miotke. Easton Craig stopped 28 shots in goal for Jackson.
Gymnastics
Jackson Area Gymnastics 137.675, Coldwater 126.975: JAG remained undefeated in conference action with the road win at Coldwater. Jenna Bradley won the all-around with a score of 35.775 taking first place on the floor (9.4) and the beam (9.0). Alyssa Budd finished first on the vault (9.0) and was second on the floor (9.35). Melody Placeway of Jackson was second on the vault (8.875) and Alaina Brown of Grass Lake was third on the beam (8.65).
