Boys Basketball

Hanover-Horton 60, Vandercook Lake 37: Logan Blackledge of Hanover-Horton led all scorers with 19 points and Luke Soper added 10 points and nine rebounds. Eleven of the 15 Hanover-Horton players scored in the Cascades Conference matchup at home. Brady Frohm finished with 11 points to lead the Jayhawks. 

Grass Lake 55, Addison 43: Brayden Lape and Sal Vitale each scored a double-double in the win. Lape finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Vitale scored 11 points and hauled in 14 rebounds for the Warriors.  

Concord 45, Reading 44: Anthony Evans scored 24 points to lead Concord in the Big Eight Conference road win. 

Tekonsha 45, Jackson Christian 41: The Royals lost on the road on Thursday night. Isaac Lanham finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists and Adam Khon added eight points for Jackson Christian.  

Napoleon 55, Michigan Center 38: Napoleon High School flexed is muscles in a contest of undefeated teams in the Cascades Conference. The Pirates had balanced scoring as Holden Van Poppel scored 17 points, Grant Bradley added 16 points, and Devonta Habern finished with 14 points. 

Girls Basketball

Columbia Central 57, Hillsdale 39: The Golden Eagles outscored the Hornets 30-11 in the second half. Zoie Bamm finished with 24 points and Jaylen Lambka added 15 points for CCHS. Bamm becomes the school’s all-time leading scorer – regardless of gender – surpassing Charles Richardson’s 1,187 mark. Richardson now serves as a shooting coach for a number of college and NBA players. 

Wrestling

Jackson at Dexter: The Vikings earned a split is Southeastern Conference action, losing to Chelsea (66-10) but defeating Huron (57-12). Nick Herbert (165), Malik Monroe (215), and Kyle Bonner (285) earned decisions against Chelsea. Bonner (285) and Caden Bayer (132) earned pins against Ann Arbor Huron. 

Boys Bowling 

Manchester 27.5, Hanover-Horton 2.5: Jack Kittel finished with a 428 series and Landon Murrell bowled a 191 game to lead the Comets. 

Northwest 28, Lumen Christi 2: Ryan Wenman rolled a 376 series to lead the Mounties to the win. Jackson Kremer bowled a 214 game to lead the Titans. 

Western 21, Coldwater 9: Tobyn LePeak bowled a 200 game and Jacob Martinez finished with a 192 to lead Western. 

Girls Bowling 

Hanover-Horton 24, Manchester 6: Halle Curtis bowled a 198, Kaytie Warren finished with a 183 game, and Madison Ashworth shot a 180 game to lead the Comets. 

Northwest 19, Lumen Christi 11:  Northwest High School bowler Lacey Wenman bowled a 164 game. Jesse Rehberg rolled a 364 series for Lumen Christi. 

Coldwater 29, Western 1: Western High School bowlers Madason McDonald finished with a 173 game and Gabby Semenchuk shot 171. 

Gymnastics

Western 127, Adrian 120.25: Taylor Paquin won the vault (8.5) and was second on the floor (8.35) for Western. Ava Gaston took first on the beam (8.3) and  Lilly Heydenburg had a solid night by finished second in the all-around (32.15) for the Panthers. 

Swimming

Jackson 95, Chelsea 89: Jackson High School had four swimmers win two events in the road win at Chelsea. Will Snyder won the 50-yard freestyle (23.1) and the 100-yard freestyle (52.27); Blake Hetherington won the 100-yard backstroke (59.22) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.19); Steven Devaughn took first place in the 500-yard freestyle (5:20) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.2); and Logan McKinney won the 200-yard intermediate medley (2:12) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.68).
