Girls Basketball
Columbia Central 52, Hanover-Horton 47: The Comets pulled within one point with less than three minutes remaining in the game, but the Golden Eagles made enough free throws to pull out the win and remain undefeated in Cascades Conference action. Jaylen Lambka scored 14 points and Hailey Freshcorn added 11 points for CCHS. Molly Soper scored 21 points and Maggie Soper added 11 points and six rebounds for HHHS.
Concord 47, Springport 43: Concord High School earned a hard-fought Big Eight Conference win Thursday against Springport. Cece Barrett led Concord with 13 points and Bradie Lehman added 11 points for Concord. Maddux Locke scored 18 points and created eight steals, Rylee Siefert added 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Hope Overweg pulled down 15 rebounds for the Spartans.
Michigan Center 65, East Jackson 45: McKynley Gaddy scored 18 points and dished five assists for Michigan Center. Samantha Wynn added 11 points and Hailey Mees scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds for Michigan Center (12-0).
Leslie 46, Grass Lake 41: Lauren Lutchka scored 14 points, Kate Starkey added 10 points, and Reese Lape finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds for GLHS.
Jackson Christian 38, Camden-Frontier 29: Ella Boll scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and blocked three shots for the Royals in the home win. Rennie Huff finished with 10 points and Johannah Loew added eight points and six rebounds for Jackson Christian.
Napoleon 52, Manchester 47: Emma Darnell scored 21 points to lead the way for the Pirates against Manchester.
Wrestling
Jackson Ann Arbor Huron: Jackson High School earned a split with a 51-36 loss to Dexter and a 61-21 victory over Ypsilanti Community. Zander Resor (138) and Malik Sharlow (190) earned a pair of pins on the night for Jackson.
Boys Bowling
Jackson 27, Ann Arbor Pioneer 3: Jackson High School earned a win at home Thursday at JAX 60.
Western 20.5, Northwest 9.5: Nolan Woodworth rolled a 369 series and Buster Marr a 360 series for Western. Preston Weigman rolled a pair of 190 games to lead Northwest and Bryce Thomas finished with a 203 game.
Girls Bowling
Jackson 28, Ann Arbor Pioneer 2: The Vikings earned a home win at JAX 60 Thursday night.
Northwest 27, Western 3: Emily Cutler finished with a 186 game and Lacey Wenman tallied a 179 game for Northwest. Ashlynn Kurtz led Western finishing with a 174 game.
Gymnastics
Jackson Area Gymnastics 138.15, Tecumseh 128.4: Addi Richmond was one of four seniors honored before the home meet and she rose to the occasion. Richmond won the vault (8.6), the bars (8.8), the beam (9.175), and tied for first on the floor (9.25). She took the all-around with 35.825, teammate and fellow senior Melody Placeway was second with 34.35, and JAG teammate Annabelle Beebe was third scoring 33.35.
Boys Swimming
Jackson 126, Tecumseh 54: Logan McKinney won the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.92) and the 100-yard butterfly (56.25) and Blake Hetherington won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.33) and the 200-yard IM (2:07.76) for Jackson.
