Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 76, Western 73: The Panthers fell in the opening round of the Western Holiday Basketball Tournament at home Wednesday. Western will play in the consolation final Thursday at 2 p.m.
Girls basketball
Western 65, Jackson 14: The Panthers earned a win in the Western Holiday Hoops Classic at home Wednesday. They outscored the Vikings 16-0 in the first quarter. Rayah Hitt scored 18 points, dished five assists, and created three steals to lead Western. Bayli Stewart finished with 11 points and Kenadee Golas added eight points for Western. Jackson was led by Akaiya Lidge with five points. The Vikings will play in the consolation final Thursday beginning at noon against Battle Creek Lakeview and Western in the girls’ final at 4 p.m. against Detroit Edison.
Concord 63, Homer 49: Grace Thorrez led Concord with 17 points. Cece Barrett added 15 points, and Hannah Stimer netted 14 points. Concord is 5-2 overall for the season.
Wrestling
Northwest 78, Concord 3: Aidyn Williams (215), Oren Ryan (285), Kayden Beach (120), Dontez Eubanks (126), Jack Edwards (157), and Kaiden Goodman (190) earned pins for Northwest in the match at Concord. Collin Thompson earned a 4-3 win for CHS at 150 pounds.
Springport 45, Concord 24: Eli Worth (285), Izaiha Robins (126), and Kaden Sizemore (157) earned pins for Springport. Concord was led by Alex Winters with a come-from-behind 7-6 win at 215 pounds and Nate Fritz won his match at 120.
Northwest 60, Springport 21: Thomas Fall (113), Kayden Beach (120), Dontez Eubanks (126), Blaine Anspaugh (138), and Jeff Miller (150) all earned pins for the Mounties. Eli Worth (285), Kaden Sizemore (157), and Caleb Wendt (165) won by pins for the Spartans.

Indiana Wesleyan 84, Spring Arbor 62: The Cougars were outscored 19-7 in the second quarter at home. Alize Tripp scored 23 points and Alex Long added 15 points for SAU (11-3, 2-2 CL).
Men’s Basketball
Indiana Wesleyan 71, Spring Arbor 66: Three players scored in double digits for Spring Arbor in the home contest. Kevyn Robertson scored 18 points, Travis Grayson added 17 points, and Gabe Newhof added 13 points and three assists for SAU (9-5 overall, 2-2 CL).
