Onsted 14, Columbia Central 4: Tyler Ladd had two hits for the Golden Eagles in the loss. 

Softball

Harper Creek 21, Lumen Christi 8: Allison O’Dowd had two hits and knocked in two runs and Kadence Hinkley recorded two hits for the Titans. 

Harper Creek 21, Lumen Christi 3: The Titans had five hits in the contest, including two hits from Allison O’Dowd. 

Northwest 18, Pennfield 0: Grace Pilaczynski had three hits and knocked in three runs for the Mounties. Nevaeh Ingram was perfect on the mound striking out all nine batters she faced in the three-inning no-hitter. 

Northwest 14, Pennfield 1: Northwest scored 10 runs in the first inning of the Interstate-8 Conference contest. Isabell Rogers hit a home run and finished with three RBIs. Cora Pilaczynski finished with three hits and four RBIs for Northwest (33-2). 

Girls soccer districts

Division 2 at Charlotte – Western 2, Northwest 1, OT: Amelia Walicki scored the game-winning-goal on a header with 2:48 left in overtime for the Panthers. Arianna Mulkey scored the tying goal for WHS on a long shot from the corner with just under four minutes remaining in regulation. Northwest scored first on a goal by Piper Darrow midway through the second half. Brune Savage finished with 11 saves in goal for Western and Skylar Tucker had 11 saves for Northwest in goal. Western will face Mason on Saturday at 11 a.m. for the district championship. The game will be played at Charlotte High School. 

Division 3 at Stockbridge – Columbia Central 8, Stockbridge 0: Jaden Bates had a hat trick for CCHS in the district semifinal at Stockbridge. Ava Evans, Alyssa Stewart, Meadow LaTour, Ava Penix, and Mia Taylor also scored for CCHS. The Golden Eagles will face Springport on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the district final at Stockbridge.  

Division 4 at Lansing Christian – Lumen Christi 4, Grass Lake 1: The Titans will face Lansing Christian for the district final on Saturday at 11 a.m. The game will be played at Lansing Christian.   

Boys golf

Division 1 regional at Cascades Golf Course: Colin Norton of Jackson advances to the Division 1 state meet after shooting a 1-over-par 73 at Cascades on Wednesday. The top three teams – Skyline (300), Dexter (322), and Saline (323) – and the top three golfers not on qualifying schools advance to the state finals at Ferris State University June 10, and 11. Jackson finished ninth as a team (348) as William Fex shot an 85, Anthony Kulka finished with a 94, and Andrew Covalle shot a 96 for the Vikings. Division 3 regional at Hawk Hollow Golf Course: Hanover-Horton tied for the regional title with Lansing Catholic, but lost on a fifth-player scorecard. Both teams shot 333 to qualify for the state meet and Lumen Christi grabbed the third spot shooting 338. Grass Lake finished ninth (398), Napoleon was 11th (400), Michigan Center placed 12th (408), and Columbia Central was 17th (459). The Comets were led by Brady Applegate with a 74, Ryder Pickering shot a 76, and Hoyt Wrona carded an 80. Lumen Christi was led by Nash Hanchett with a 79 and Josh Baker scoring an 84.The Titans and Comets will compete in the Division 3 state finals June 10, 11 at the Fortress Golf Course in Frankenmuth. Division 4 regional at Calderone Golf Club: Ben Maino of East Jackson will be heading to the Division 4 state tournament. Maino was the top individual qualifier at the D-4 regional at Calderone Golf Club with a 79. East Jackson finished seventh as a team at 395, Jackson Christian was ninth scoring 400. Blaine Spry finished with a 92 to lead JCHS. The Division 4 tournament will be played June 10, 11 at Forest Akers West near the campus of Michigan State University.
