Baseball Districts
Division 4 at East Jackson
Addison 5, East Jackson 3: Addison High School scored three times in the top of the seventh inning and the Trojans came back with a pair of runs. Bryce Fowler tallied four hits and two RBIs for the Trojans (14-20-1).
Concord 5, Litchfield 0: Lewis Fritz and Jordan Medellin combined for a 1-hitter in the Division 4 district semifinal. Logan Lamb finished with two hits and three RBIs for the Yellow Jackets.
District Final: Concord 5, Addison 0: Isaac Waldron pitched a complete game four-hitter as Concord won the Division 4 district title at East Jackson. Waldron and Gavin Riske knocked in four of the five runs for the Yellow Jackets. Concord will face Tekonsha next Wednesday at Colon in the Division 4 regional semifinal scheduled for 2 p.m.
Softball Districts
Division 3 at Grass Lake
Grass Lake 18, Michigan Center 3: The Warriors scored a dozen runs in the first inning at home in the Division 3 District semifinal at Grass Lake High School. Olivia Turner hit a home run and Emily Guthrie finished with three hits and two RBIs for Grass Lake. Eli Noll finished with two hits for Michigan Center (10-18).
Napoleon 13, Manchester 3: The Pirates scored six runs in the sixth inning closing out Manchester in six innings. Karson Fairbanks finished with three hits – including a home run – and knocked in six of the runs for Napoleon.
District final: Grass Lake 13, Napoleon 1: Olivia Turner, Katelyn Postuma, and Bree Salts all hit home runs in the Division 3 district final at Grass Lake. Postuma finished with five hits and four RBIs and Turner finished with four hits and four RBIs. Laney Brown pitched a 1-hitter for Grass Lake (35-5) with nine strikeouts. Karson Fairbanks knocked in the only run for the Pirates (25-10). Grass Lake will take on the winner of the Hanover-Horton district tournament at Onsted, June 10, at 10 a.m.
Division 4 at East Jackson
Addison 15, East Jackson 0: Addison High School hit a pair of home runs and limited East Jackson to three hits in the Division 4 district semifinal at East Jackson Friday. The Trojans finish the season with an 8-20 record.
Concord 17, Litchfield 4: Iyla Weeks finished with four hits and Madisyn Barrett finished with five RBIs for the Yellow Jackets.
District final: Addison 18, Concord 0: Madisyn Barrett and Cieara Barrett each finished with two hits for the Yellow Jackets. The Panthers hit four home runs in the Division 4 district final at East Jackson. Addison (25-5) will face the winner of the Fowler district June 10, at 10 a.m., at Morenci High School. Concord finishes the season with an 11-24 record.
Golf Regional
Division 4 at Sharp Park Golf Course: Jackson Christian High School finished fifth with a four-man total of 358 at Sharp Park Golf Course Friday. Jonathan Locke finished with an 85 and Nate Locke and Christian Guerrero carded 89s. East Jackson failed to post a team score, but Mason Dingee finished with an 85 for the Trojans. Hillsdale Academy won the regional (318), Lenawee Christian was second (343), and Hudson took the third and final state team qualifying spot (344). It took a score of 79 to advance as an individual to the D-4 state final.
Tennis State Finals
Division 3 Western at U of M Tennis Center, Dexter: Western High School was tied for 14th place with four points.
Division 4 Columbia Central, Lumen Christi at Kalamazoo College: Maggie Page of Lumen Christi has advanced to the semifinals in No. 1 singles at the Division 4 state finals Friday. The Titans are tied for ninth with 10 points on Friday. Lumen Christi won one match in each of the doubles flights. Genevieve Brawner advanced to the quarterfinals at No. 3 singles after two wins. Her quarterfinal match score was not posted as of 8:30 p.m.
