Grass Lake 9, Leslie 1: Luke Guthrie knocked in five runs helping the Warriors win a non-conference game. Liam Metheringham finished with three hits and Antoni Malinowski pitched a complete game for Grass Lake to earn the win.
Grass Lake 2, Leslie 0: Max Schafran threw a no-hitter and struck out four batters in the process for Grass Lake.
Manchester 5, Hanover-Horton 0: The Comets were limited to three hits in the Cascades Conference game.
Manchester 2, Hanover-Horton 1: Luke Soper struck out 11 batters in just over four innings pitched. The Comets could only muster seven hits in the two games.
Softball
Madison 3, Columbia Central 1: Grace Keller had one hit and scored the only run for the Golden Eagles.
Columbia Central 8, Madison 3: Bri Boone hit a home run and knocked in three runs for CCHS. Ava Lyke finished with three hits for Columbia Central.
Springport 12, Concord 5: Rachel Potter finished with five hits and three RBIs for Springport in the opening round of the Al Glick Softball Classic on Friday. Pyper Norris finished with a pair of hits for Concord.
Lumen Christi 13, Britton-Deerfield 1: Mallory Arcaro finished with two hits and three RBIs and Emily Rogers finished with two hits and two RBIs. Bree Okoniewski earned the pitching win for Lumen Christi.
Lumen Christi 16, Britton-Deerfield 1: Bree Okoniewski had two hits and knocked in three runs and Bella Wrozek pitched a one-hitter for the Titans with six strikeouts.
Hanover-Horton 12, Manchester 3: The Comets collected 15 hits in the win. Alexis Flint had three hits and knocked in three runs for Hanover-Horton.
Hanover-Horton 3, Manchester 1: Dani Riggs recorded two hits and knocked in one run and Drew Swihart hit a home run for the Comets. Alexis Flint earned the pitching win with six strikeouts in the complete game.
Girls track and field
East Jackson Dome Invitational: Grass Lake edged Lumen Christi in a meet that found the top seven teams within 10.5 points of one another. Grass Lake scored 58.5, Lumen Christi scored 56, Columbia Central scored 55 tying with Addison, Whitmore Lake and Madison scored 53.5, and Hanover-Horton scored 48. Napoleon finished 11th (32), East Jackson was 13th (26.5), Springport was 16th (17), and Michigan Center scored seven points. Rylie Aylesworth of Columbia Central won the 200-meter dash (26.37) and the 400-meter dash (1:02). Molly Brown of Addison was the star of the meet winning four individual events.
SEC White Division Finals: Jackson finished fifth scoring 49 points at Tecumseh High School. Everette Drummond of Jackson finished second in the 400-meter dash, Keiyera Johnson was second in the 100-meter hurdles (15.84), won the 300-meter hurdles (48.54), and finished second in the long jump 15-10.5, and Jackson placed second in the 1,600-meter relay (4:26) with Johnson, Drummond, Mikayla Butters, and Maya Hitchingham.
Boys track and field

East Jackson Dome Invitational: Napoleon High School easily outdistanced Hanover-Horton 123 – 70.5 for the title. Lumen Christi finished fifth (52.5), Columbia Central tied for sixth with Manchester (33), East Jackson scored 32, Springport was 11th (23), Grass Lake was 15th (18), and Michigan Center tied with Addison with 14 points. Holden Van Poppel of Napoleon won the 110-meter hurdles (14.86) and the long jump (20-6.5), and the Pirates won three of four relay events. Isaiah Dinverno won the 1,600-meter run (4:37) and the 3,200-meter run (10:11) for Lumen Christi.
SEC White Division Finals: Jackson High School finished third with 95 points at the SEC White Division final at Tecumseh High School. Ahmad Ameen of Jackson won the 400-meter dash (50.20), second in the 200-meter dash (22.55), Kyson Cooper placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (42.4), Jackson won the 800-meter relay (1:31.28) with Ameen, Tyler Selby, Xavier Gibbs, and Kardiair Sumner, the Vikings were second in the 400-meter relay (44.78) with Sumner, Gibbs, Cyron Stamper, and Cooper, Jackson finished second in the 1,600-meter relay (3:35) with Andrew England, Bryce Nastally, Cooper, and Ameen, Milan Weatherspoon finished second in the shot put (42-11.75), and Selby won the long jump (20-6).
Girls soccer
Columbia Central 1, Blissfield 0: The Golden Eagles won another one-goal game against Blissfield. Alyssa Stewart scored with under a minute remaining in the contest for CCHS.

Boys golf

Western Invitational: Lumen Christi Catholic High School won the event with 303, Hanover Horton finished second at 311, Northwest was one stroke behind the Comets, Western finished fourth scoring 317, Grass Lake placed 11th with 362, Jackson Christian finished 14th at 391, and Michigan Center finished 16th at 413. Jackson County dominated the top 10 players with eight of the spots with Nash Hanchett taking medalist honors with a 72, Cody Rowe of Northwest and Brady Applegate second with 73s, Charlie Saunders of Lumen Christi placed fourth scoring a 74, Jake Brafford of Northwest and Eric Bonser of Western tied for fifth with 76s, and Hanover-Horton teammates Travis Drennan and Rider Pickering tied for eighth with 77s.
Jackson at St. Johns Invitational: Jackson High School finished 12th with a four-man total of 366. Jacob England led the Vikings with an 83 and Eli Bowman finished with a 91.
Girls tennis
Columbia Central 7, Adrian 1: The Golden Eagles swept the singles matches with victories by Morgan Fausz, Iliana Fowle, Lily Ellison, and Ashley Yang. CCHS is 8-1-2 during the regular season.
