Baseball

Grass Lake 14, Vandercook Lake 0: Grass Lake only had four hits in the win. Brock Harms had a hit and knocked in three runs for the Warriors. Brayden Lape, Blake Stark, and Antonini Malinowski limed the Jayhawks to two hits. Andrew Cheney and Camren Lackey had hits for Vandercook Lake. 

Napoleon 12, Manchester 3: Grant Bradley earned the pitching win with 10 strikeouts. Jason Negus, Lucas Hankis, Rocco Cross, Bradley, and Caleb Breining each had two hits for the Pirates. Napoleon will travel to Grass Lake on Thursday for the semifinal round of the Cascades Conference Tournament. 

Addison 5, Hanover-Horton 2: Drew Fedore had two hits and knocked in one run for the Comets. Addison advances to play Michigan Center on Thursday in the Cascades Conference Tournament at MCHS. 

Michigan Center 10, East Jackson 1: Brendan O’Dowd, Daylen Hinkle, and Alex Hunt all had two hits for the Cardinals. Hinkle and Joe Poynter combined for a one-hitter on the mound. Amarr Hunter had the only hit for the Trojans. 

Adrian 8, Jackson 4: Jacob Nichols had three hits and Patrick Deer and Michael Foust had two hits apiece for Jackson. 

Adrian 12, Jackson 3: Michael Foust had two hits and knocked in two runs and Kaspar Haehnle had a pair of hits for Jackson (9-18). 

Holt 13, Western 1: Caden Oliver had two of the Panthers’ four hits in the game. 

Holt 9, Western 4: Ben Parrott and Carter Martin each had a hit and knocked in a run for the Panthers (9-14). 

Softball

Sand Creek 17, Columbia Central 2: Berlynn Lyke and Lauren Bates each had a pair of hits for the Golden Eagles. 

Sand Creek 8, Columbia Central 3: Sand Creek scored four times in the fourth inning to pull ahead. Caella Fall had a pair of hits for CCHS (14-9).

Western 7, Holt 4: Riley Kubiak and Ashley Sturgill had three hits apiece for Western. Hailey Whisman struck out six batters for the win for Western. 

Holt 11, Western 4: Riley Kubiak had two hits and Abby Nieswender knocked in two runs for Western. 

Boys track and field

Coldwater tri-meet: Western won the tri-meet with 96.5 points, Coldwater scored 51, and Northwest 15.5.  Western won all four relays in the tri-meet at Coldwater. Dylan Hackworth won the 200-meter dash (24.25), Jacob Singleton won the 1,600-meter run (4:33), Brady Plate won the 110-meter hurdles (17.00), Lincoln Raczkowski took first in the 300-meter hurdles (41.64), and Owen Fremeau won the discus (119-6) for Western. Owen Khon won the 800-meter run for Northwest (2:14). 

Pennfield 77, Lumen Christi 73: Matt Hoop won the 800-meter run (2:13) and the 1,600-meter run (4:55), Xavier Gallant won the 110-meter hurdles (18.4), the 300-meter hurdles (49.31), and the long jump (17-6.5), and Luke Smith took first in the shot put (42-2) and the discus (118-1.75) for the Titans. 

Girls track and field

Coldwater tri-meet: Western finished with 104 points, Coldwater scored 53, and Northwest tallied 5 points. Lilli Luma won the 100-meter dash (13.36) and the 200-meter dash (27.56) and Kayda Herrick won the high jump (4-10) and the 300-meter hurdles (51.78) for Western. The Panther swept all four relays at the tri-meet. Lainey Reynolds of Northwest finished second in the 400-meter dash (1:05). 

Pennfield 82, Lumen Christi 58: Madison Osterberg won the 800-meter run (2:20) and the 1,600-meter run (5:00) and Cheyenne Slider won the shot put (24-5) and the discus (87-11.5) for the Titans. 

Girls soccer

Columbia Central 1, Blissfield 1: Alyssa Stewart scored the CCHS goal on an assist by Mia Taylor. Bella Huston earned the tie in net for the Golden Eagles (8-3-3). 

Lenawee Christian 5, Grass Lake 1: The Warriors are now 6-7-1 on the season with the road loss. Kylin Heidrich scored the only goal for Grass Lake while Karly Penhallegon made 16 saves in net.

Quincy 12, Hanover-Horton 2: The Comets (0-9) scored two goals in a game for the second time this season.

Tecumseh 3, Jackson 1: Jackson fell to 7-5-1 on the season with the home loss.  

Michigan Center 7, Jackson Christian 1: Julia Reynolds scored three goals and Maria Aloisio and Cecelia Scaife scored two goals apiece for Michigan Center (5-5-2). Nicola Wittkopf recorded the win in net for Michigan Center with nine saves and Natalie Smith had three saves in relief. 

Boys golf

Jackson Christian at Hillsdale Academy: Jackson Christian finished third with a four-man total of 202. Christian Guerro and Jonathan Locke each shot 48s for Jackson Christian.  

Western Invitational: Lumen Christi won the invitational at Arbor Hills Golf Club with a 334. Northwest was second (346), Hanover-Horton finished third (349), and Western placed fourth (353). Brady Applegate of Hanover-Horton won medalist honors with a 75, Isaac Anuszkiewicz of Northwest shot an 80, Ryder Pickering of Hanover-Horton shot an 81, Nash Hanchett of Lumen Christi finished with an 82, and teammates Adam Fuller and Brendan Stevens shots 83s. 

Girls tennis

Columbia Central 6, Jackson 2: Delaney Jones and Megan Jones earned singles wins for Jackson at Nos. 1 and 4 respectively. Alana Knoebel and Emma Keane won singles’ matches for CCHS at Nos. 2 and 3. Columbia Central swept the doubles competition, losing only 10 games in the progress. 

Chelsea 7, Western 1: Dru Porter and Gabi Davis won in three sets at No. 4 doubles for Western. The Panthers are 12-4-1 on the season.
