Columbia Central 5, Addison 1: Peyton Denning had two hits and Cameron Adams and Tyler Ladd each recorded one hit and one RBI for CCHS in the opening round game of the Wood Bat Tournament at Addison. Adams earned the win on the mound for CCHS with three strikeouts. 

Onsted 5, Napoleon 0 (five innings): The second game of the Wood Bat Tournament was halted after five innings. Napoleon could only muster two hits in the contest – one each by Grant Bradley and Lucas Hankis. 

Girls soccer

Grass Lake 9, Vermontville 1: Grass Lake earned an easy victory at home on Thursday.  The Warriors will play the winner of Leslie/Lumen Christi in the MHSAA Division 4 district semifinal. The game is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. to be played at Lansing Christian. 

Boys golf

Cascades Conference final: The Cascades Conference golfers beat the rain at Sharp Park Golf Course on Thursday. Hanover-Horton won the outright title with a 317, Michigan Center was second scoring 351, Napoleon placed third with 356, East Jackson was fourth at 358, Grass Lake finished with 371, and Addison shot 445. Brady Applegate of Hanover-Horton finished the conference season with an even-par 72 for medalist honors. He defeated Ben Maino of East Jackson (73) for the overall medalist for the season by one stroke. Ryder Pickering of Hanover-Horton shot 74, Brody Shannon of Michigan Center and Jack Beck of Grass Lake shot 83s, and Carter McBride of Michigan Center and John DuBois of Napoleon finished with 84s. Earning first-team all-conference honors were Applegate, Maino, Pickering, Shannon, DuBois, Robbie Michalowski of Addison, Beck, and Ben Baker of Napoleon. All-conference honors are tabulated from jamborees throughout the regular season and the finals.
