Girls soccer
Jackson 2, Lumen Christi 0: Sydney Langley scored eight minutes into the contest giving Jackson a 1-0 lead at halftime. Maleeya Mathie put the game away for the Vikings with less than two minutes remaining in the contest. Rylee DeMann earned the shutout in goal for Jackson. Lumen Christi goalie Izzy Ermatinger kept the Titans in the game with a number of solid saves.
Baseball
Clinton 14, Grass Lake 4: Clinton scored seven runs in the first two innings of the contest. Brayden Lape hit a home run and drove in two runs and Jack Reid added a pair of hits for Grass Lake.
Clinton 8, Grass Lake 5: The Warriors scored four runs in the fourth inning, but it was not enough in non-conference action Saturday. Avin Sandoval finished with three hits for Grass Lake.
Hillsdale 7, Springport 5: Seven errors spelled doom for the Spartans in the loss. Kaden Dickinson finished with one hit and one RBI for the Spartans (2-15-1).
Hillsdale 13, Springport 1: Marshal Shoemaker finished with two of the Spartans’ four hits in the non-conference matchup.
Softball
Grass Lake Quad: Grass Lake went 2-1 on the day with a 2-0 loss to Leslie, a 16-1 win over Centreville, and an 8-0 win over Clinton at home Saturday. The Warriors were limited to three hits in the contest against Leslie; Emily Brown hit a homer against Centreville and Laney Brown finished with four RBIs; Bree Salts and Nadene Hubbard each collected two hits and knocked in two runs and Rylee Fitzpatrick hit a home run against Clinton. The Warriors are 19-2 overall for the season.
Lumen Christi at Waverly Quad: The Titans went 0-for-3 at Waverly losing to the host school 12-0, Laingsburg 5-2, and Lakeview 12-2. Bree Okoniewski finished with a pair of hits against Waverly; Allison O’Dowd finished with two hits and RBI against Laingsburg; and the Titans were limited to three hits against Lakeview.
Northwest at Plymouth Salem: The Mounties went 3-0 at Plymouth Salem defeating Farmington 14-0, Pioneer 10-7, and Franklin 14-1. Ava Golightly had four hits against Farmington; Izzy Rogers hit a home run and knocked in three runs against Pioneer; and Ari Good and Rogers hit homers against Franklin. Good finished with three hits and four RBIs and Rogers knocked in three runs in the contest. Northwest improves to 9-8-1 on the season after a slow start.
Springport 21, Hillsdale 6: Kaylee Kopulos knocked in four runs for the Spartans in the three-inning game.
Springport 17, Hillsdale 1: Jordan Reed knocked in four runs and Kelsey Speer earned the pitching win for the Spartans.
