At Sand Creek
Monroe St. Mary 3, Columbia Central 2: Columbia Central found out that champions die hard. The Golden Eagles held a 2-1 lead in the best of five against Monroe St. Mary, but fell in the last two sets in the Division 3 regional final at Sand Creek High School. CCHS lost 25-18 in game one, but rebounded with 25-22 and 25-14 wins. Monroe St. Mary took game four 25-20, but CCHS took a 3-1 lead in game five. Monroe rebounded and took a 14-11 lead before CCHS tied the score at 14-all on kills by Bailey Surque. The game was tied at 15 before Monroe scored the final two points of the game. Surque finished with 15 kills on the night and Ava Lyke served 14 points for the Golden Eagles. Kenadee Tompkins finished with more than 45 assists for Columbia Central. CCHS finished with 41 wins on the season. Monroe is the two-time defending volleyball champions in Division 3.
At Dansville
Pewamo-Westphalia 3, Napoleon 2: Napoleon High School lost in five sets, 25-18, 15-25, 25-16, 22-25, and 15-6 to Pewamo-Westphalia in the Division 3 regional final at Dansville High School. . The Pirates finished the season at 26-11-2. Sam Conaway scored 17 kills and Alyssa Budd had 16 kills for the Pirates. Momo Hampton had 40 kills, Kaitlyn Pequet finished with 21 digs, and Kelsea Bradley tallied 10 digs for Napoleon. Both Monroe St. Mary and Pewamo-Westphalia will play at Lumen Christi on Tuesday in the Division 3 quarterfinals.
