Onsted 73, Michigan Center 39: The Wildcats pulled away from the Cardinals in the second half. The Cardinals were led by Hunter Clemons with 11 points and eight points were added by both Hadyn Hinkle and Jayden Watson. See our full story at JTV.TV.

Women’s Basketball

Emily Carbajal

Jackson College 63, Siena Heights JV 56: Emily Carbajal scored 15 points to lead JC to the win. Zoie Bamm finished with 14 points and Kaylona Buter added 12 points and seven rebounds in the win. Michelle McGee added eight points and four assists for the Jets in the victory. The Jets will host Lake Michigan College Saturday at 1 p.m. 

Men’s Basketball

Jackson College 75, Siena Heights JV 55: Jackson College improved to 4-2 overall with a road win over Siena Heights junior varsity squad Thursday night. The Jets will host Lake Michigan College Saturday for a 3 p.m. tipoff. 

Women’s Soccer

NAIA National Quarterfinals: Spring Arbor University 2, Life University (GA) 0: The Cougars advanced to the National NAIA Tournament Semifinal with the victory. Ariana Stoltzfus was the hero for SAU with her seventh goal of the season in the 71st minute to put Spring Arbor on top 1-0. Kaylee Beekel scored the second goal nine minutes later for Spring Arbor.  Blair Currie earned the shutout in goal for SAU. Spring Arbor is scheduled to play No. 3 ranked Cumberlands of Kentucky Saturday in the semifinal at 5 p.m. in Foley, Alabama.

Mekhi Wingfield

National Football League receivers would love to catch 1,300 yards in passes during a 17-game season. Mekhi Wingfield did it for Concord in nine games. The senior re-wrote Concord receiving and state records. Wingfield was named all-state by coaches in the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association in 8-Man football this season. He set a number of school records for scoring with 30 points in a game, 118 points in a season, and 286 points in a career. He also has the Concord record for touchdowns in a game (5), in a season (18), and in a career (44). Receiving wise he holds the state and school record for catches in a game (17), catches in a season (86), Catches in a career (228), and yards in a career (3,086). Wingfield finished with 1,329 yards receiving in 2023 placing him sixth in the state. The senior has a number of football offers but said he is waiting until January to make a decision.
