Men’s Basketball
Jackson College 63, Albion College JV 61: Albion College’s junior varsity team had the ball and a chance to tie or win the game in the last 10 seconds of the game, but Jackson College played solid defense to earn the win. Xavier Ford-Belton scored 22 points, Brayden Pearson added 14 points, and Savonn Campbell tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds for Jackson College (2-0). The Jets host Grand Rapids Community College with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff. The contest will be the back end of a doubleheader live on JTV.
Men’s Soccer
Grace 2, Spring Arbor University 1 (Crossroads Tournament): The Cougars lost in the league tournament on the road Wednesday. Aiden Messinger scored the only goal for Spring Arbor (11-5-4 overall). Matt LeBlanc stopped three shots in goal for SAU.
Women’s Soccer
Spring Arbor University 1, Marian 0: Isa Martinez scored a goal in overtime sending SAU to the Crossroads League championship game. Blair Currie earned the shutout in goal for Spring Arbor with three stops. Spring Arbor (16-0-2) will host Indiana Wesleyan Saturday at 1 p.m. for the league title. SAU coach Jason Crist becomes the first women’s soccer coach in NAIA history to reach the 400-win milestone.
